Why would ninjas raise their kids to be ninjas? Killers and liars and thieves?

A ninja is a murderer. A ninja is a spy. A ninja is a rapist, a torturer, a liar. A ninja is someone just waiting for someone to finally be strong enough to kill them so they can be human again to their loved ones instead of a murderer, a spy, a rapist, a torturer, and a liar. Civilians see the ninja clans and are envious or fearful or, if they actually think about what a ninja is, incredulous about how they raise their children to be killer and liars and thieves.

What is it about the ninja way of life that attracts whole families to build their lives around it? How can parents birth their child, innocent as any other, and think 'I will allow my child to be ninja if they want. They might kill, they might lie and they might steal, but I think that they will have the best life they can if they become a ninja.' and actually follow through? How can a killer, a liar, a thief with bloodstained hands wish that on an innocent?

How can a person who wakes up from nightmares where they kill and kill and kill and the world turns red and drowns, wish for their child to live the life they had? How can someone who has ripped someone's dream apart dream for their child to do the same? How can families who have fought in wars that decimated many many other families wish for their children to have the power to do the same?

What civilians forget, or don't see, is the love ninjas have for life, because who knows better then a killer how precious life is? Who knows better then a liar how far trust goes? Who knows better then a thief how much everything is worth, compared to anything else?

A ninja knows how precious life is, and therefore, lives life as much as they can. A ninja knows that when the world looks at you as a monster, having someone there with you who knows what you've done and understands is all you need to go on. A ninja knows that family and friends are worth everything you have to do, so having the strength to do what you need and make it back to them and have them still smile at you and welcome you when they know just what you did, gives you the strength to do the same when they need it, and they need it just as much as you and family understands that.

And all ninjas understand that, from the clan-members to the civilian born to the outcasts, and they are all family for that reason, even without blood and parents wish for their children to know what that's like, even if it means that far sooner then anyone would like they learn how fragile live is and how precious each smile you see and each laugh you produce is.

Parents want their children to be ninjas like themselves because they see as a ninja sees and they see that their child needs to learn what life is about and they don't know a better way to teach them then to have them see what death is with their own eyes, instead of through stories that are only half understood.

Ninjas know what death is, so they understand how beautiful life is.
