Breathe Me
Disclaimer: I own not the series nor the song...sadly.
Summary: Life's a lose and gain deal. So do you give up when it's too late to start over?
NaruSasu
and
NaruHina
Help, I have done it again
I have been here many times before
Hurt myself again today
And the worst part is there's no one else to blame
"It's too late...you and I both know that..."
"Shut up! you don't know what you're saying! you're alright, so get up!" Naruto yelled, hoisting the cold Sasuke off the rain soaked earth.
Sasuke immediately coughed, a puddle of blood showering their feet. Naruto slowly lowered him to his knees again.
"Teme...don't give up..." Naruto said, voice shaky. He let the tears tugging at their sockets fall freely...though he wasn't sure Sasuke noticed through the downpour.
"Dobe...why'd you come back...? I already said it's too late..." Sasuke breathed, voice now barely above a whisper as he moved his coal eyes to meet Naruto's cerulean.
"No! it's never too late! We...we just have to get you to Baa-chan...Sasuke?"
Sasuke gave a hollow laugh. "Always... were..."
"Sasuke!"
Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me, I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me
He sat a single red rose upon the open casket. Naruto refused to take his eyes from the crimson petals...refused to peer into the open lid. He could already feel himself breaking down inside...
"Naruto-kun..." a voice whispered behind him.
He didn't want to talk to her...he didn't want to speak to anyone. He just wanted to go home and crawl up into a hole. Alone...and cry.
By mistake, he looked straight into the casket, immediately feeling his heart crack at the sight...
Without realizing it...without any control, he found his face buried into the surprised Hyuuga's shoulder.
She placed a shaky hand on his black clothed back, feeling him shudder against her and her shoulder become increasingly wet...small tears slid down her pale cheeks as well. She stared straight ahead into Sasuke's lifeless face.
He's not breathing.
Ouch, I have lost myself again
Lost myself and I am nowhere to be found
Yeah, I think that I might break
Lost myself again and I feel unsafe
"Teach me to throw kunai, daddy!" a blonde boy yelled...much louder than necessary.
A shadowed father picked him up, tossing him above and into his arms. The boy grinned, then laughed, crawling onto his father's back.
"Alright." A cheshire grin to match the child's.
A smaller, frailer, woman took to his side, giving him a peck on the lips. She held a hand over her extended stomach, her pure white eyes meeting cerulean.
"Don't be out too late."
Too late.
Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me, I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me
Another rose placed on the grey tombstone. He removed the now wilted one.
The blonde dropped to his knees, producing a kunai from his pouch. He began carving something into the stone.
The sky was red, matching the rose. It was evening. It casted an eerie orange glow to the lonely graveyard. Naruto didn't seem to mind.
He stood, dusting his knees off. Then turned to leave. "Remember it...teme."
Be my friend
Hold me, wrap me up
Unfold me, I am small and needy
Warm me up and breathe me
It's never too late.
