Title: The Dead are Silent
Character: Reavers, some Wash
Prompt: Fire
Word Count: 100
The smoke billowing up into the sky was the first sign of trouble. It was almost beautiful, ethereal, as the mushroom like clouds danced through the air with only sparks of fire shining through. The landing gears were set and the closer to the ground they got the more terrifying the site became. The bodies were everywhere, thrown about the streets as if a child had had a tantrum. The city was still, no movement or life anywhere except in the burning flames and dancing smoke.
Wash reached out, grasped the intercom, and whispered a single word into it. "Reavers"

Prompt: Fire
Word Count: 100
They said to burn it down and so he did. He never asked questions or wondered why. He just carefully spread the accelerant, lit a match, and walked away. Their screams echoed behind him as he kept a steady pace down the busy suburban street. He hesitated only once so that he could offer a prayer of forgiveness. He asked God to forgive the sinners as well as their executioner. He was working toward a better; more peaceful world and God would forgive him for the evil manner in which he had been forced to accomplish such a magnificent world.

"Uh, yes exactly. They're really quite beautiful."
"Will you read me some?"
Uh, oh, yeah I guess." Simon said.
Kaylee skipped over to the bed and nudged Simon until he scooted over. She jumped up and tucked herself into his side while he opened the book up.
"…Take me to you, imprison me, for I,/Except you enthrall me, never shall be free,/Nor ever chaste, except you ravish me.."
"Ravished, huh? I thought these were holy sonnets?"
"Donne was famous for his use of seductive language in all of his poems; even the religious ones."
"Sounds like my kind of religion."
