As I waited for Jace to finish talking on the phone I looked over the edge of the building we were standing on. It was a forty foot drop to the ground. I couldn't help but wonder what it would feel like to fall from this height. I looked over at Jace. 'Ugh. Still on the phone.' I thought to myself. 'Who's he talking to anyways? Is it really that important?' I looked over the edge again. ' Jace is facing me. He'd catch me.' I thought. So I stepped backwards over the edge. As I felt my heart jump into my throat I saw Jace slam the cell phone shut and race to the edge. He sprang from the building, his magnificent white wings unfolding before my eyes, and dove for me. I flipped in midair so that I was facing the ground. I felt his strong arms slid around my waist as he caught me. As we continued to drop towards the ground I began laughing in excitement. Right when we were about five feet from the soil he made a sharp turn in the opposite direction. I felt my adrenaline rushing as we flew towards the clouds. I looked back at him. He had a smile spread across his soft, full lips. I couldn't help but remember the way those lips felt when pressed against mine. His golden blond hair flew into his eyes but he didn't care. He was watching me just as I was watching him. As we flew over the trees that banked central park I turned in his arms. I grabbed onto Jace's muscular back, to keep from falling to the ground just in case his grip on me failed, and leaned my forehead against his. Jace and I could care less that I blocked his view. He knew the way to the Institute by heart. As those cherry lips touched mine I felt my heart fly to my throat once again. I closed my eyes in pure delight...
Then suddenly he was gone, along with the beautiful sensation of the wind flying around me. I opened my eyes to see the wonderful sapphire eyes of my cat staring at me. As I let out a startled squeak I looked around. I was in my room, the clock read 10:30 am. 'It was a dream' I said out loud to no one in particular. As I went threw the rest of my day, my thoughts continued to go back to my dream. I was walking downtown in central park when I heard a familiar voice calling out to me. I turned as Jace came running up to me. He held me protectively in his arms before planting a gentle kiss on my forehead. And as we walked along the tree line all I could think was.... 'I've finally found my angel.'
