I looked around the bright room. All the colors coming from the stained glass blinded me. I could feel his stare on me. I was used to it, Magneto seemed to think that staring at me would unlock all my secrets. It wouldn't though. I turned my head slowly to met his blue gaze. His eyes made me feel like he was penetrating into my soul. I turned away abrubtley. I had told Storm that Magneto seemed to stare at me a lot. She told me that it had to be beause of my gift. Which consisted of me being able to sheild myself mentaly and physically, control the elements, and teleport back into the past and future. The thing was though I could only teleport myself.
I don't think that was it though I think it was more personal then my stupid mutation. I shook my head and focused on what they were saying.
"I think that might just work, Charles." Magneto said to Proffesor Xavier. I frowned. What? Proffesor Xavier nodded. Xavier then goes on to tell us about Mystique.
"You won't be able to survive if you go back that far. The mind can strech only so far before it snaps." Kitty said shaking her head. An sense of dread filled my stomache at the thought of Xavier no longer around to helps mutatants because he tried to go back into the past and was turned insane.
"What if the mind can snap back, I mean I heal faster than I rip apart." Logan said with a look of thought on his hard face.
"That could work." Xavier said with a nod though he looked perplexed.
"I don't think he should go alone." Magneto said with a shake of his head. "Someone needs to keep him from killing Charles and me."
"I can only trasport one person at a time." Kitty said with a shake of her head. I sighed knowing it was me who would have to babysit the Wolverine
"I'll go." I said stepping forward. I heard a chuckle, I turned to see Magneto smirking like he knew something that I didn't. Oh, how I wished I could knock that smirk off his face. "You teleport Logan back to May 21, 1973. I wait for him at the gate to the school. Kitty nodded.
"I want you to find me and convince me." Xavier said with a nod to both of us. Logan looked at the Proffersor with a look of disbielf.
"Won't you just read my mind?"
"I didn't have my powers in 1973." Xavier responded his voice rough with a hint of slight regret.
"You'll also have to find me." Magneto spoke. I turned to him, not really sure if I like the idea of meeting his younger self.
"Why?" I asked, from what people had told me, I really didn't want to meet the young Erik.
"Where are you?" Logan asked. Magneto completely ignored my question and turned to Logan.
"It's complicated." He told him simply
"Let's go." Logan said. I took a deep breath and nodded.
"Logan you're going to have to be paticent with me." The Proffesor said. "I was a changed man, I need you to show me the way as I have done you."
"Paticence is my strongest suit." Logan muttered sacastically. I rolled my eyes. Oh course it was, right next to his love for romance books. Logan laid down on the table and looked up at Kitty. He looked at her for a moment before turning his gaze to me.
"I'll see you soon." I pressed my lips together and nodded. This was the first time I have ever tried to go this far back into the past. To say I was nervous was an understatement.
"This may hurt a little." Kitty said after explaining everything to him. He nodded with a roll of his eyes. Dumbass. The next sound that left his mouth had a loud yell of pain. A little? Geez.
With one last look at Magento and Xavier, I closed my eyes and teleported myself to May 21, 1975. When I opened my eyes I found myself outside the gate of the school. The surrounding area was cover in vines and leaves, and I cringed as I relized how bad the situation was with the Proffessor. He would have never let the school grow up like this. I looked around and I felt a deep sense of dread as I noticed the 'Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters' sign on the ground. I sat down on the rough pavement and closed my eyes thinking about everything that had happened in my miserable life. First the Cullens leave, my best friend imprints on a bitch. My father and mother are killed in a plane crash. Then I'm targeted and attacked because I am a mutatant. What a wonderful life I have.
I guess I had fallen asleep sitting there because the next thing that happened was a car pulled up and when it was just starting to show the sunrise, the sun was now high over head. I watched as a black car pulled up and Logan stopped in front of my sitting form. I sighed and got up, walking to the passenger door and sliding in. We said nothing as we drove up the path to the mansion.
I sighed as I noticed how sad and gloomy the once proud and tall mansion looked. Logan parked the car near the frontsteps and got out slamming the door and taking off his sunglasses. I got out of the car and looked around. I rememebered Storm teaching me how to control my sheild in the feild nearby. How Logan taught me hand to hand combat on the basketball court. Those times though seemed to far away, and I felt as if I would never see those times again. I felt a single tear roll down my face and I leaned into Logan as he wrapped his arm around my face.
"Don't worry kid, we'll get him back to normal." Logan said kissing the side of my head. After my father died he had became my father-figure. I nodded not trusting my words. We walked up the steps and when we reached the top Logan to back his arm and pounded on the front door. I watched quietly from the background as a young man with glasses and dark hair awnsered the door. The door wasn't even open enough for half of his shoulders to show.
"Hey I'm Logan, I'm here to see the Proffessor." Logan said stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Hank McCoy, Are you a parent?" The man asked in a soft voice. I knew there was something in that voice that sounded familliar.
"I sure as hell hope not." Logan muttered. If I was him I'd hope not too.
"Well there's no Proffesor here." The man finally said starting to close the door. Logan quickly acted and pushed back against the door. A vein in Hank's face popped out of his forehead as he tried to close the door even though it seemed pointless against the Wolverine and all of his strength.
"Where the Beast?" Logan taunted lowly. If it wasn't such a serious mission I would have laughed. "Come on, come on Beastie." I pressed lips together trying to hide my smilie. Logan seemed to make everything not so serious. Suddenly the door closed about an inch. Logan chuckled. "There's the Beast."
"No he's not here." I almost flat out laughed. Hank always seemed somewhat ashamed of his mutation but right now he had admitted he was mutant. Mutant and proud. That was all Logan needed I guess, because he shoved against the door so hard, Hank fell back and Logan went through the door.
Hank started stuttering and trying to get Logan to leave and had forgotten all about the fact that I was there, because as Logan walked on being chased by Hank, they had left the door wide open. I followed them quietly until Logan started to climb the stairs. I felt as if it were an invansion of privacy, plus I knew something bad was about to happen seeing as Hank had turned into Beast. After a few minutes I heard crashing and yelling and I almost laughed when I heard Logan yelling and the next thing I knew he crashed out of the hallway and to the other side of the stairs.
They contiued to fight and I stayed out of the way. Then Logan ended up on the table with Beast hanging from the chandlier.
"What in the bloody hell is going on here?" Came a voice the english accent rich and full on. A man about 25 came into view. His hair was long and fell to his chin in dark slight curls. His face was just the right amount of scruffy and I couldn't help but notice how his muscles showed through his tight white beater.
I was so glad he couldn't read my mind, because all I could think about was how hot he was. How hot my Proffersor and mentor, Charles Xavier was.
