It is often the case that small towns are regarded as "sleepy". It is also often the case that "sleepy" is the worst way to describe a small town, as demonstrated by River Heights, a rural community just a two hour drive outside Chicago, Illinois. Our story begins with a rather famous resident of River Heights, a young woman by the name of Nancy Drew.
It is very likely you've heard of her adventures with her friends, solving mysteries and ensuring justice is served in every case she comes across. There has never been a case that Nancy has encountered she could not solve, and never was there a life threatening situation that she could not handle. Some people would describe her as "perfect," either as a complement or an insult.
There are, of course, things about Nancy Drew that most people will never know, no matter how immortalized in history she becomes. Everyone knows that the girl must have had her fair share of flaws, but few know what they are. Many wondered when exactly Nancy would encounter that one case she wouldn't come back from, physically or psychologically.
Now, if you know her stories well, you know that she died at the ripe old age of 94 in her sleep due to heart failure. It's a bit of anticlimactic death for such an adventurous person, and perhaps she deserved to die young, in the middle of it all. Her body may have lived, but there was that one case I remember. The one that changed poor Nancy forever. Perhaps calling it a "case" is a bit misleading. Mind you, we were all hardly aware of what was going on until it was all over, even Nancy. It was all happening during regular cases, how the hell were we supposed to notice? I think I've already said too much.
You won't find any clues or treasure in this mystery. There's no true culprit to catch.
What you will find is who Nancy Drew really was. You'll learn a lot more about her friends along the way. There are laughs, times you'll want to cry, moments you can't stop reading, and points where you wish you could stop reading.
Of course, you won't find this one written down in a book anywhere. There's only one place you can get it now, considering poor Nancy is long dead, now.
Where, you ask? Where can you find the story of this mystery? A story of romance, betrayal, secrets, vengeance, and sacrifice? Well, from me of course. And who would know better than I?
