Chapter One I looked myself over in the mirror for the fourth time in a row. My dress was perfect, it hugged my curves and contasted with the bright white bow and heels I was wearing. I nodded slowly, with a determined look on my face. I was going to tell Stefan I loved him tonight if it killed me. We had been dating for a while now, and we still hadn't exchanged those three,
very important words yet. Caroline and Tyler said they loved each other all the time, and they told each other they loved each other all the time. I heard my phone vibrate from somewhere deep inside my purse

"Speak of the devil!" I gasped into the phone. "Shut up!" Caroline played on the other end. "I was wondering if you and Stefan wanted to come over my house before the dance, So we can all go together." She stated. "Yeah, That sounds good. What colour is your dress?" I asked curiously. "Blue. Yours?" She asked. "Its a secret." I whispered quietly. "I told you mine!" She said in mock outrage. "That sucks. Bye Caroline!" I chirped before hanging up the phone. I tossed it on my bed as I continued to apply my lip gloss.
"What flavour?" I heard a silky voice ask from behind me. "Woulden't you like to know..." I replied, not looking at the smirking face behind me. "What are you doing here Damon, and Why are you wearing a tie?" I asked, confused. He was wearing a suit jacket, with a black button up, black skinny jeans, and a red tie. Classic Damon.

"Because it'sthe dance?" He replied stupidly. "Your not even in High School!" I exclaimed at his pig headed ness. I turned around to face him. " Details." He sighed. I grinned and shook my head at him. We had grown to become good friends. "Elena dear, I still haven't seen your dress!" I heard someone shout from downstaires. Damon's face lit up. "CHEATING ON STEFAN? SCANDELOUS!" He bellowed. "Unless it's with me.." He wiggled his eye brows. "That's cameron. My gay best friend."
I told him, bounding down the staires. "Or is that a cover up?" He asked me, leaning over the stair case. I sashayed over to Cameron,

"Wahlah." "Damn Girl!" He exclaimed looking me up and down. He wore a suit jacket and Dressy pants, with a white tie that contrasted with his dark skin. He looked amazing, but when did he not? Just then there was a knock at the door, who I knew would be stefan. "Check me!"| I squeaked. "You look fine! Now go see your man!" He exclaimed. I was grinning as I opened the front door to the house.
Stefan sauntered in. He smiled, "You look beautiful." I smiled back at him, a blush rising to my cheeks. "Elena, god, that was amazing!" Damon sighed, walking down the steps. His hair was all messed up and his tie was shoved to the side. "She's a keeper." He winked at Stefan. I rolled my eyes, "Seriously Damon?" I asked. "It wasn't Seriously Damon when we were up stairs.." He trailed off. "SHUT UP!" I hollered at him. Punching him in the arm. He grinned. I glanced over at Cameron,

who was looking at me, then Damon, then back to me. Uh oh. I thought. I have seen that face. I was proved right when a notorious smirk plastered his face. I'd have to talk to him after the dance..
