A/N: I tried. Really I did. I tried very hard, it just didn't work. (you'll understand after you read it)
Disclaimer: I don't own them… if I did there would be far more interesting things going on than this!
The Horror of it all
By: Amanda (Adami) Rose
He ran to the water, disoriented and in almost physical pain…His heart was breaking…"Oh my god, what did I do?" he said out loud "How could I do this?" Severus Snape asked to no one in particular.
He looked down at the mangled and twisted body of his nearest and dearest friend.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen" he sobbed as he gently lifted his friend's body into his arms, rocking it back and forth as if to comfort him..
"You've always been there for me. Even when everyone else turned away from me, abandoned me. You were there. You trusted me, and look what it got you" he sobbed, trying in vain to smooth his friend's hair into some semblance of normality.
"I'm so very sorry. If I could make it right I would. I'd make it right and you'd be here with me now"
The student body of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would have been in a state of severe shock to see the feared potions master not only weep, but wail and carry on like a first year Hufflepuff after a particularly good verbal bashing.
"Severus, what are you…" he heard Minerva McGonagall say, walking up behind him.
Noticing the gruesome sight before her she gasped. "What happened Severus, how did this happen?"
"I…I…I didn't mean for it to happen. It was an accident. I …"
"Severus my dear boy" he heard the voice of Albus Dumbledore speaking to him.
"Headmaster. I …I killed him" Severus sobbed even harder. "I killed Hairy T. Lionheart!"
"Severus I realize that you are rather attached to your stuffed toy, and that this is a bit upsetting for you, but you do realize that you are a wizard, and as such you could simply cast 'reparo' on it, don't you? Minerva said, taking her wand out and casting the repairing charm on the little lion who was now rearranging it self into a recognizable lion with a small pink bow with white polka dots in it's mane.
"I… Thank you Minerva! Oh thank you so much!" Severus exclaimed, pulling himself up off the ground and getting back to his 'normal self'. "If I may request, Minerva, that we keep this incident between the three of us. It wouldn't do for the staff, or especially the students to know about this." Severus said, still absentmindedly petting on the lion.
"Um…Of course Severus. Not a word shall pass my lips." Minerva replied, silently thanking her parents for all of those years of Art Lessons they had make her take. not a word, though I'm sure Poppy and Pomona would just love an illustrated account she thought to herself.
"I appreciate that." He said, stalking back toward the castle. "That's the last time I let that mean old werewolf use you as a chew toy" he told his little lion.
"I…What just happened here Albus?" a rather shocked Minerva asked.
"It would appear Minerva, that Remus Got a hold of Hairy again." Albus said, putting his arm around his deputy's shoulders. "Care for a lemon drop?" he asked, digging around in the pocket of his robe and pulling out a pair of sweets.
"No Albus, I wouldn't. What I think I could use however is a very good stiff drink." Was her only reply.
