A/N Sorry I haven't been updating my Guardian story lately. I'm working on a really long chapter for you guys, but in the mean time I hope you enjoy this small story. It is based on the song Whiskey Lullaby By Brad Pasiley. Hope you enjoy. Oh, and don't own PJO or the song.
Percy had just came back from his quest to prove his worth to Athena to marry Annabeth, and he was happy. Athena made him do all of the labors of Hercules. He did them all, to top that he did them quicker than Hercules. Percy was heading to see Annabeth at the beach. That's when he saw her. She was making out with one of his best friends, Connor Stoll. All he asked was "Why?" Just loud enough for we to hear. She stopped and looked at him. He already had tears in his eyes. He started to run, run and never look back. She was yelling for him to come back but he didn't hear it.
She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
Percy stayed at bars everywhere, trying to forget.
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
Until the night
Then it happened,
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory.
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby
La la la la la la la, la la la la la la laa
La la la la la la la, la la la la la la laa
Everyone knew his death was Annabeth's fault
The rumors flew but nobody know how much she blamed herself
She knew it Was her fault. She couldn't stand it.
She became addicted to the drink.
For years and years she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath
She finally drank her pain away a little at a time
It never made her better she could see him everywhere.
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind
Until the night
Then it happened,
She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger And finally drank away his memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees
We found her with her face down in the pillow Clinging to his picture for dear life
She loved that picture,
We laid her next to him beneath the willow
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby
La la la la la la la, la la la la la la laa
La la la la la la la, la la la la la la laa
