I'm your typical, grade ten highschooler. Not nerdy, but not popular, not skinny, but not fat, not dumb, but not smart. I am tall, with long dark brown hair and the same, dark brown hair. I'm Caitlin Star, and I live in a small town, and attend a small school.

"Cait! wait up right now!" My best friend Joni yells across the hallway. I stopped and rolled my eyes and turned around. Joni glared at me as she shoved in between another girl and me, as we continued walking. "You know, you can get in trouble for yelling down the hallway" I told her shaking my head. "Uh, yea, whatever Caitlin, your not exactly what I call the teacher's pet" she laughed, rolling her eyes. Yep, I definatly knew that was true. My english teacher literally tried to fail me in all her classes, and I was constantly getting in to trouble, but it's not only me, because the guys get it too. "Hear about that new guy in school?" Joni asked, her auburn brown eyes searching the halls for him. "You mean Brandon?" I asked, knowing that he was a new student. "Ugh, know, I mean Chad" she said with a grin, as she pulled back her dirty blonde hair. "Chad? What's his-" but then Joni cut me off. "There!" Joni nearly whispered, nodding her head toward a cute guy leaning against his locker. "Oh!" I said laughing. He was wearing a red Fox T-shirt, with baggy Billabong shorts. His dirty blonde hair frayed out at the sides and and his dark brown eyes gleamed. "Cute eh?" Joni giggled, as Chad turned to them. I quickly looked away, hoping he hadn't saw me staring him down. I nodded. He was cute, kind of adorable. I took one last glance at him before I entered the classroom. Math was always my not-so-strong point, but got through it fairly easily today. As usual, Mrs. Adams talked on and on about linear equations, as we all doodled on our binders, wairting, hoping for the bell to ring within the nesxt minute. Even the class's smartest kid, which of course, was always the nerdy guy with glasses and buck teeth, was starting to yawn. Then, to everyone's relief, and, after Dylan Rene's last spitball was shot to Mac Kieth, the bell rung through the thick, humid, air. I got up, zipped up my binder and pushed in my chair. What a relief! I thought. "Thank god" Joni said, kicking her pencil case to the door, when she finally just picked it up. As Joni skipped out the door, she spun around, knocking my book on the hallway floor. "Jeez Joni" I muttered, as I bent down to pick it up. I stood up, and walking backwards, watching the floor to see if I hadn't picked up something that also fell, I suddenly felt a taller, and stockier body bump into me. I gasped and spun around, only to see a red Fox shirt in front of me. I slowly looked up and saw Chad, the new kid. I could have sworn his dark eyes were laughing as he smiled, gazing into my eyes. "Sorry!" I smiled, as I watched his eyes. But then I remembered that we were standing in the middle of the hallway, and were getting wierd looks. "Its okay, don't worry about it" Chad said, quietly, with the voice a dream guy would have. I quickly stepped aside, and walked towards my locker. Wanting one last glance of the cute boy, I turned to see if he was still there, but to my dismay, he had already walked away. "Grab hold of reality!" Joni's voice rung through my thoughts, shattering them. I stood there for another moment, trying to feel what it had felt like when they had bumped into eachother again. "Oh my god Caitlin, I think telling you about Chad was a bad idea" Joni giggled, pulling me into ELA class.
