Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha.
"Kagome are you okay." Sango asked worriedly as she glanced at her pale face.
"I'm fine. It's nothing but a headache really." Kagome said and groaned putting her head in her hands. "It'll clear up soon. I only wish I had thought to pack some Tylenol."
"What's that?" Miroku, the lecher, asked curiously," As he ate a bag of chips Kagome had brought with her and carefully shifted a log on the campfire.
"Oh it's a type of medicine that'll make the pain go away." Kagome responded sullenly wishing for some. Why does my head hurt so much? This pain is almost too much. "Where did Inuyasha go?"
"He said something about going to sniff around for some info on the jewels. Also said he got tired of waiting for you to get back to the feudal era." Shippo responded helpfully. "Oh wait I think he also said he might go train with Totosai for a little while, so he won't be back for a couple of days probably."
"Oh." Kagome said. "I guess-" Kagome never finished her sentence as she suddenly fell to her side in a heap.
"Kagome!"
"What's wrong?"
Sango checked Kagome's pulse and then her eyes widened in horror. "No. This can't be. Th-this just can't happen!"
"What? What can't happen?" Shippo practically screamed in anxiety. "What's wrong?"
"She-she's dead!" Sango all but screamed the words in horror.
"Dead?" Miroku asked incredulously and bent down to check Kagome's pulse to make sure. He groaned when he sensed that her soul had departed her body and under his touch her skin was quickly turning cold and oddly tinged blue. "How did this happen? We have to take her to Kaede! Maybe she can return Kagome's soul back to her body!"
Without another word the group quickly gathered their belongings and rushed to Kaede's village.
"Her soul will not return." Kaede said grimly as she sat in a small hut with Kagome's lifeless body lying in front of her. "Her body has died of natural causes." No one said a word. "I'm afraid that we will have to bury her here, unless Inuyasha gets here soon enough to return her body to her family."
Every person in the room had tears running down their faces, and yet no one spoke but instead held a silent vigil for Kgaome.
Suddenly a loud voice boomed from the door of the hut and asked, "Why do I smell death? It reminds me of-"Inuyasha stopped speaking when his eyes spotted Kagome lying dead on the floor and howled in pain. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?"
