Balance
Jason never really knew what compelled him to go out with Madison in the first place. She was a gossiper, and crazy above all things. She always seemed to be all over the place, and she just couldn't keep it together sometimes. In a lot of ways Madison reminded Jason of Jack. The two of them never really thought much about their decisions, they just blurted things out and dealt with the consequences later. So why did he find himself asking her out in the first place? He thought. When the idea first came to him he thought it would be weird. After all, Madison was Lauren's best friend, and Lauren was his little sister. But he couldn't keep his mind off her.
She was pretty for one.
With bouncy red hair and a youthful face that always seemed to glow when she smiled.
She had a way of cheering Jason up when he was stressed out with school work or early college choices.
And then he realized, she was his balance.
Jason had always been a serious guy.
Even football had never truly been for his enjoyment. He was always thinking of what would happen next. He was thinking about how being in a sport would show colleges that he could juggle outside activities while still keeping above average grades. He worked hard everyday to finish his homework and study for test. He worked hard to get into advanced classes, while juggling a job and an after-school sport in the process.
His parents never really asked him to do any of these things, he was motivated to do it himself.
All of it was leading up towards his future medical career. He wanted to help people, to come to their aid, to actually do something with his life. It wasn't even about the money, though that was a perk, and it wasn't even about the job being practical, after all they were always going to need doctors. But more so it was about actually doing something with his life.
But sometimes he got a little carried away.
And that's when she came to his aid.
Madison.
The girl who didn't really seem to have a care in the world.
Sure she could be a mess sometimes, but she was happy. And whenever Jason saw her, he was happy too. Whenever he was stressed out he would just pick up the phone and call her, and the two of them would hang out. She would talk about the silliest things, things that were of no importance. Jason thought at times that she didn't have an intellectual bone in her body.
But she was happy. She was happy and unique and beautiful in every single way. And that was something that Jason couldn't help but adore.
But when the football team asked him why he had gotten with Madison, he couldn't bring himself to say all this. Jason was never the type of guy to put all of his feelings out on the line like that. Even with Madison, he didn't tell her all of the things he was thinking about her. He simply replied that he got lazy, and he instantly regretted those three words when he said them.
But the truth was and would always be, that Madison was his balance, and that's why he couldn't let her go.
A/N: OMG I'm so happy it's the weekend. I mean yes I still have a ton of homework to do but still. I didn't have to wake up as early! Anyway, just a Jadison fic that I thought of while I was doing my Spanish homework. Thanks for reading!
