Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano, 3rd Person Point of View
May 14th started like any other day for Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano. Precisely 4 seconds after waking up, she was out of bed and had thrown open the drapes, took in the full panorama of New Rome, and decided that it hadn't, in fact, been attacked in her absence. That being settled, she then began her normal morning routine, all the while thinking that there was something that was supposed to happen today that she was not remembering.
By the time Reyna had arrived at the Principia with Aurum and Argentum in tow, Reyna knew that there was something she was forgetting, but she couldn't for the life of her remember what. Her mood had not been improved by her realization that somebody had removed all of her equipment, as well as any work-related documents and items, from her flat. It had to be Jason, as the only people who Terminus allowed inside a Praetor's house during their absence was the fellow Praetor, IF given preauthorization. Reyna HAD given the preauthorization but was now regretting it, as it seemed that her fellow Praetor's antics would never let up. Honestly, sometimes Reyna felt as if she were the senior praetor. She was interrupted from this train of thought when she opened the door and stepped inside.

"Everyone in position?" Jason whispered. He saw a few nods around the room, as well as a few that didn't nod, as they had already made themselves disappear as the Plan required. Just then, a messenger practically knocked the back door down in haste, and burst inside. "She's coming!" he whispered. Seeing Jason's nod of assent, he spun around and ran out the back again, as to not interrupt the proceedings. "Alright everyone, this is it. We have to make this perfect." Jason said with quiet conviction. "For Reyna and Rome" This was answered with a chorus of responses, varying from "For Reyna." in the case of his friends, as well as people from the second cohort, from which Reyna rose; as well as "For Rome." from the people Jason had dragooned into assisting.

As soon as Reyna stepped inside, she knew something was off the lights were off, for one thing, and the room seemed to have had a bunch of furniture brought in that was not normally present. She took another step forward, then heard a quit 'click' as her foot completed the circuit of the pressure plate she had just stepped on. Immediately, all of the lights in the room turned on, illuminating her surroundings, which were to say, curious. A large cake had been brought in for one, and the room was FAR more festive than it should have been. The entrance to the dungeons had a party banner hanging across it, and all of the paintings had had pictures of party hats taped over the people depicted within. She had another second or so for these realizations to stew, before she suddenly heard—
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY REYNA!" Immediately, the formerly empty room was full of people, as they sprang out from behind bookshelves, chairs, tables, and even a trapdoor that arose from the surrounding floorboards. "Wait, what—" Whatever Reyna had been about to say was drowned out by her friend's cheering, laughter, and smiling. 'well' She thought 'a few minutes of being human can't hurt' With that, she quietly waited for them to finish singing the lyrics of Happy Birthday, before shoving Jason's head in the cake, causing laughter to break out again.
