A/N: I freaking love Independence Day! :"3 And the fight we made~ Oh! And... I don't think the Vikings ever went into present-day US territory so... yeah... But they still went to NA~ Then, this thing isn't completely historically correct. Lots of things led up to the Revolutionary War. For those of you who don't know, the Boston Tea Party was the result of incredibly high taxes and pissed off Americans. You could also take the slap as the Boston Massacre? If you want~ The mountain line is called the Proclamation Line of 1763 because everything west of that was Indian Reserve and the Province of Quebec and then Spanish Territory.
I don't own Hetalia but I can say that I own the knowledge of the Rev. War thanks to obsessiveness of History~
"You threw the bloody tea into the sea! You wasteful bastard."
"I threw the tea to make a statement. Your taxes are too high! My people can barely feed themselves because you can't make your own money!"
"You wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for me!"
"You weren't the first one to come here, Arthur! The Vikings were!"
"Oh. And I suppose being raised by a bunch of savages is a civil way to grow up. Without me, you wouldn't have grown like you have!"
"I'm not even allowed to pass the mountains! What do you mean grow? You keep trying to shut me off!"
"I'm 'shutting you off' for good reason! Those savages live past the mountains and I'm not having my people congregate with them."
"They aren't your people anymore! They left you because your place is shit! They came to me for a better chance and all you've done is made it worse than that shit place you call England!"
Arthur was done arguing. He raised his hand and slapped Alfred. The colony stumbled back, shocked and stunned. His mouth was agape as he touched his reddening cheek.
"Y-You…"
Arthur leered. "You deserved it for being a complete brat, Alfred."
"B-But!"
"No buts. I'm not lowering the taxes and you can expect to be making up for the lost tea." Arthur swiftly turned and left the room, locking the door to keep Alfred in his room and in the house.
Alfred stood there a few minutes more, holding his cheek. Arthur had never been physical before. Ever.
As he let the emotions inside of him boil and churn, he pondered his attitude as of late. Yeah, he had been kind of a brat. He had thrown perfectly good tea into the ocean. But… England deserved it. He had been pressing taxes for ridiculous things for far too much. And since England never listened to reason, he had to do something to get his attention. And what better way than to dump his precious tea? His people didn't like it anyway.
His hate bubbled and grew. England was only using him. Using him like every other colony he ever owned. Just like his brother and his cousins. They were all being used by England for England.
But not him. He was going to end this cycle. He was going to break away from the tyranny and become his own country. Do better than England, do better and make more money and have a bigger and better army. And he was going to become a better superpower of the world to replace him.
Alfred sat at his desk and began writing out his plans.
