Finn could not believe they graduated Finn was going to spend a year at Lima community college then join Rachel in NY and reapply to colleges there he wanted to get his grades up.

They slipped out the front door of his parent's house and found themselves in the cold and the dark looking at the stars . They wrapped their arms around each other and Rachel rested her head on his chest.

"I can hear your heart," she whispered.

"Yeah? What is it saying?"

Rachel laughed softly. "It's not saying anything. Just beating."

"It says a lot of things, actually. You must not be listening close enough." He slid his fingers gently up and down her back as he spoke and he felt her shiver slightly.

"Okay," Rachel said. "I'll listen closer." She was quiet for a moment. "It's saying that… I'm the best person you ever sung a duet with ."

Finn smiled and nodded. "Yes. And what else?"

"It says that you are really happy right now."

"I am." His voice was softer. "Anything else."

"It says… you love me?" Rachel whispered. It wasn't a statement. It was a question.

She leaned her head back to look into his eyes. Her brown eyes sparkled they way they did whenever she was fearless.

"Does it really?" Finn said softly. When Rachel didn't respond, he continued. "I told you it had a lot to say."

"And is everything it said… true?"

"It is."

They were both silent. She gave him a small smile and put her head to his chest again.

"Does your heart have anything to say?" he asked her quietly.

"It says… the same things."

"What things?"

"It says… I'm happy. And that… I love you."

Finn wrapped his arms tighter around her for just a moment before he let go of her and stepped back.

"I have something I want to give you." Finn slid his hand into his pocket and took out a little box.

Rachel gasped. "I swear if you're proposing to me right now…".

Finn laughed. "I'm not proposing. Don't worry. But I do have a ring. I want you to have it."

Finn opened the box. Inside it there were two rings. One was larger, heavier looking. The other one was much smaller.

"One is for me and one is for you," he said softly, taking them both out of the box and sliding the box back into his pocket. "I'm going to wear this one," he said, sliding the larger ring onto his left ring finger, "whenever I miss you and I'm thinking of you. And I want you to wear this one, so you remember how special you are to me. And that I'm always thinking of you."

He held out the ring in his palm so she could take it from him. But she gave him her right hand and whispered, "Put it on for me."

He slid the ring onto her right ring finger and then he took her face in his hands. "There's going to be some time when we won't see each other much with us being busy in college but just know it's only for a year . There will be times when I'm going to miss you more than I've ever missed anyone in my entire life this ring will stop me from buying a plane ticket . But I'm going to be wearing this ring, and I'll remember. I'll remember that I'll always find my way back to you. No matter how far apart we are."

Tears began to fall from Rachel's eyes and Finn wiped them away. "You wear yours, and remember that I will always be thinking of you. You and I, this is one in a million. You'll see."

Rachel reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck, sliding her fingers into his hair. She stood on her toes and pressed her forehead to his. "Do you have any idea how much I love you?" she whispered.

"Trust me, baby. I love you more."
