"Did you miss me?" the horrid lines couldn't get out of Emma's brain. They just kept repeating themselves over and over and over again. She was tried of it, it needed to stop. But she couldn't help but have just a little bit of hope that that meant Sebastian was alive.
She began pacing back and forth. She had half a mind to call Adele, but she couldn't do that to the woman. She had been at the wedding, Adele was glowing. No matter what Adele had done to her, Emma wasn't that cruel.
But she wanted her brother. And nothing stood between Emma and her family. Emma stormed across her flat, grabbed her phone, and dialed the unfamiliar number.
"Hello?" an unfamiliar voice came onto the phone. Emma didn't let that faze her.
"Hello, I need to speak to Ad- Mary Watson," Emma demanded of the man on the other end of the line.
"And to whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to?" the man questioned. Emma sighed and rolled her eyes.
"Emma Moran," she heard the man take a sharp intake of breath, "Now put Mary on!" Emma heard shuffling on the other end of the phone as she tapped her foot impatiently.
"EMMA!" Mary whisper shouted at her old friend, "What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?"
"You can't tell me you have thought of anything else this past week," Emma whispered angrily at the phone.
Mary glanced around her flat, praying John wouldn't hear this conversation.
"You're right. But it doesn't matter," Mary whispered to her friend. Emma's temper began to rise. No. Adele was a lot of things. But she didn't desert people.
"Adele," Emma said threateningly.
"Don't you ever, EVER. Use that name," Mary viciously spat at the younger woman. Emma wasn't going to let Mary do this to her. Emma deserved her Happily Ever After, she was going to get it.
"No. I can use it all I want, Adele," she flung the name at woman on the other end of the line, "And you need to grow up. You're just scared. I know he found out. I know you're pregnant. But you need to realize you need to finish what you start, or your life will be miserable. You need to stop running, Adele. And you're not going to learn how to stop if you keep doing it!" Emma slammed the phone down. She fumed, standing there for a second. Then, not being able to take it anymore, grabbed her purse and slammed the door behind her.
