Andromeda: (ān-drŏm'ĭ-də): A constellation in the Northern Hemisphere near Perseus and Pegasus. It contains a spiral-shaped galaxy that, at a distance of 2.2 million light-years, is the farthest celestial object visible to the naked eye.

Captured. Chained. Left to rot. Waiting. Sure that he will come. He is their captain, he will come.

Icy coldness pressing in from all sides. Trapped. Horrific darkness stealing consciousness. No- wait-

Floating. Asleep? In cryo? Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. He will come. He promised.

Light flooding in. Where...?

"Welcome back."

A strange man. Calls himself "Admiral Marcus." He claims Khan is alive, but if that is true, then why has he not come to save you?

"How many torpedoes?!"

"71."

Cold. Chained up and left to rot. Waiting. Khan will come.

Faith: gone, lost. Where is Khan? Once so sure that he would come, but now...

Footsteps. A bitter laugh spilling from your lips,

"Here to taunt me further, Admiral?"

A pause. A whispered word.

"Andromeda."

Bated breath. Slowly rising eyes. "Khan."

The feeling of his arms around you. "You're alive," he whispers.

"As are you." You ignore the eyes watching the two of you as you ask, "The others?"

A smile pressed to your hair. "Safe."

You do not wish to return to the darkness of cryogenic sleep, yet Khan whispers his reassurances in your ear.

A sigh slips from your lips as you nod, accepting his hand to help you onto the table.

You keep your eyes on him as Dr. McCoy injects you with a sedative.

He is the last thing you see before you slip back into sleep.

The next time you awaken, it is to Khan's blue eyes locked on your face, his hand on your cheek.

It is to the words you have been dreaming of hearing for so long.

"It is time."

A smile forms on your lips, mirroring his, mirroring the rest of your family's.

Time to finally complete your mission.

Time to claim what is rightfully yours.

Random thought of mine that came up while watching STID. Unbeta'd.
