Hello!

I'm MildeAmasoj and this is my first story for the Ace Attorney fandom.

It's very short and it's set during Apollo Justice, seven years after Phoenix's disbarment. Implied Maya/Phoenix.

The parts in italics are taken from the intro of Rihanna's song "We Found Love".

A special thanks to Turnabout Writer, my beta. She's amazing!

It's like you're screaming, and no one can hear.

That was what the 26-year-old Maya Fey had been feeling like for the past seven years.

She felt trapped into herself, her heart a dark and cold prison with no escape.

And it was all his fault.

You almost feel ashamed, that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing.

That man, a former lawyer and a current poker player, had completely ruined her life.

She had looked up to him, once.

He was everything she could ever wish for.

Every time she felt unhappy, he would come to her with an outstretched hand and a smile.

She would wipe her tears away and laugh and shout: "Burgers!"

And he would just grin and take her out.

No one will ever understand how much it hurts...

Oh, how much she missed him.

There was still that irrational and slightly childish part of her who would wake up in Kurain thinking that she was in Los Angeles.

And every time she realized he wouldn't be there to wish her a good morning and prepare eggs and bacon to satiate her two stomachs, she felt her heart break just a little more, just a little more.

You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you...

With him she had been through the best and the worst parts of her life, and in tears or with a smile, he had always been there for her.

Until that day when Fate decided they couldn't be happy together, and cruelly ripped them apart.

She had met him when her had sister died; she had been kidnapped by a serial killer who had wanted to hire him; she had lost her mother while she was with him.

He had been an unlucky charm, a constant reminder of her misfortune in life.

But he was her unlucky charm, and there were few things she wouldn't have given to have those days with him back.

And when it's over, and it's gone, you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you could have the good.

Yep, very short.

Anyway, I hope you liked it!
