AN: So, this is very short but I'm going to post it anyways. Another request from tumblr. I'm pretty sick, sorry for any mistakes and shit writing. Point something out if you notice it.
"Please, don't leave…" Gilbert croaked.
Roderich paused, his hand on the wooden frame of the door. "I thought you were asleep…" The aristocratic nation kept his composure. He wouldn't yell, he wouldn't scold.
Gilbert smiled, however weak it was. "I woke up. Come to see the awesomeness-limited time only?" The albino laughed; his eyes were dull. Despite his attempts at humor, the message behind it was still dark.
Roderich didn't appreciate it. "Gilbert, is this really the time for jokes?! You're…" he looked disbelievingly at the Prussian, and his fingers squeezed the doorframe, shaking ever so slightly.
Gilbert's smile faded, his face becoming solemn. "You don't know that. Come on, do we have to have such gloomy conversations when we won't be seeing each other for much longer?" Gilbert sat up on his bed; normally he would laugh at the other's sudden worried expression at him getting up-every time he was sick or injured it went like this-but he let the nation push him back, and even scooted over so he could sit.
"Gilbert… If you fa-" he was cut off.
"Again, who said I was going to?" Gilbert didn't want to think like that.
"Gilbert!" scolded the exasperated Austrian. "Just let me speak. If you fade, I just want you to know a few things." He took a breath, trying to remember something he'd obviously rehearsed beforehand.
"What? That you care about me? I know that." Austria's eyes scanned over the other's pale face.
He was searching, for something. Maybe some sickly tone, but the Prussian couldn't look anymore pale than he always did. Or possibly reassurance but Roderich never trusted his bravado anyways. Whatever it was, he didn't find it.
Gilbert saw him looking lost, and sat up. "Look, I really don't know, alright? Even… Even someone like me is allowed to be scare at moments like this…" He looks down, trying to gather himself again, before looking back up, straight into violet eyes. "But don't leave, spend this time with me…"
Roderich was silent for a few moments. "Ich liebe dich, you know."
Gilbert smirked. "Ja, I know." The tension was too much for them, and Gilbert let his lips crash into Roderich's.
They'd been through so much, and neither of them knew if it was in the end or not. But they knew of now.
