"Speak now or forever hold your peace."
He wasn't going to say anything, he wasn't an idiot. It was just, no-one else seemed to think that he wouldn't ruin this day for James.
He could see the glances Remus was throwing him from out the corner of his eye. Why did Remus seem intent on showing Sirius that James didn't love him? Sirius knew that, as has been said, he wasn't an idiot.
The few others who had know about his and James' relationship where also sparing him some of the glances they should have kept for the bride and groom. As he shifted uncomfortably and wondered how long this time had to go on for; he saw something which made his heart miss one of its vital beats. James was staring him in the eyes.
"Go on," Those hazel eyes taunted him. "I dare you."
But Sirius didn't and the ceremony continued. He could sense James staring at him but kept his eyes averted. At the after-party during his best mans speech, he let James catch him in his gaze.
"You could've you know. In fact, I wish you had."
James didn't know what he wanted, Sirius reasoned with himself. The look in Lily's eyes also made him sure. She would never let James go without a fight.
Sirius knew that there was no Sirius and James anymore. It was Lily and James now and nothing Sirius or James could do would ever change that.
I didn't really know what i was doing when i wrote this. I really didn't mean to include Lily at all.
