Staring
Rose entered the kitchen at the Burrow, her head spinning a bit. Her and Scorpius were at the Burrow for a Sunday dinner, and it was because of Scorpius that her head was spinning as well.
Rose and Scorpius had gotten together at Hogwarts after many difficulties between their disputing families. However, love had prevailed, and the couple was happy as ever. At the end of their seventh year, Scorpius had asked Rose to move in with him, and she was happy to oblige. They were both extremely successful, given their genes and Ravenclaw background, and were working as Healers at St. Mungo's Hospital.
As soon as they had entered the Burrow, she had spotted Teddy and Victoire with their son Dakota. Then she was off, cooking at Dakota, chasing after him, spinning him around, blowing raspberries on this face, his arms, everywhere she could reach. However, throughout the evening, she had felt familiar eyes on her back, intensely staring at her, and when she looked back, she would see the same thing: Scorpius smiling and giving her an intense stare with those beautiful silver grey eyes of his, one that she wasn't familiar with.
The butterflies stirred in her stomach every time and she would lightly blush (thank goodness she had inherited that from her mother). For the past couple of hours, before dinner, she had the same feeling more than six times and Rose wanted to know what the hell her boyfriend was thinking.
This is what passed through Rose's mind as she helped herself to a glass of water. She was leaning against the counter when Scorpius walked through the door.
He walked up to her, snaked his arms around her waist, and pulled her close, smelling her hair. Slowly, and slightly confused, Rose put down her water, and returned the hug.
"Hi," he breathed huskily in her ear. The butterflies were back. Great.
"Hey," she breathed back.
He ran his fingers through her hair, then down her back, brushing over the bit of exposed skin she had from reaching her arms up to hug him.
She shivered. "I've wanted to do this all night," Scorpius said as he peppered kisses down her jawline.
Rose pulled away. She asked, "Why have you been staring at me all evening?"
Scorpius leaned in for a kiss, but Rose twisted her head so he hit the corner of her mouth only.
"No, Scorpius, I need to know why the hell you have been staring at me like you've never seen me before!"
Scorpius shifted a little. Then he looked at her, held her as close to him as possible, bent down, and whispered slowly, "I think I fell in love with you again tonight love. Seeing you play with Dakota made me think of things that I haven't ever thought of before."
Rose looked at him, waited two seconds, and then kissed him with as much passion as she could muster. He responded in earnest, and when the kiss ended Rose wrapped her arms around his waist, and that's how the two were found, by the rest of the family, who had begun to wonder where the couple had disappeared off to.
