The Darkness
I used to fear it.
I used to fear, the demons and monsters that dwelled within the Darkness.
I used to fear that I would be sucked into the Darkness, never to be seen again.
Now, the thing I used to fear, is my weapon.
There were four of them.
Criminals probably, by the sound of the things they said...but surely fools.
The Darkness that blanketed the world was my tool for survival.
I gripped my weapon and danced around them in the Darkness, surprising them greatly.
I knew how the Darkness was, so I practiced and practiced to use my other senses.
My hearing, to find out how many there were by their voices.
My smell, to find out where they were by their odor.
And so I danced gracefully around them, knocking them senseless as I did so.
Soon after I began my Dance of Death, I heard them hit the ground, choking.
I smiled, knowing that they deserved what had happened to them, then I started walking.
Joey Wheeler walked around Domino City, his eyes darting back and forth. "SERENITY!" he yelled, his hands cupped around his mouth. After five minutes of yelling, he continued his trek to search for his little sister.
"Big Brother? Where are you, Big Brother?"
The blonde teen turned to the side to see Serenity walking up to him, her once beautiful eyes dull and blank, and her long, white walking stick moving from side to side. "Serenity! There you are, I was worried sick about ya, where were ya?" Joey said with a sigh of relief.
Serenity shook her head, "Just got lost is all...this city just keeps changing!" she said quietly. Joey nodded and embraced her. With her head buried in his chest, Serenity smiled at the memory of the fools that had kept her from her big brother. She wasn't helpless, just cause she was a blind girl. She was deadly because she embraced the Darkness.
