I ran as fast as I could. My feet hitting the floor hard with every hurried step, the sound flowed around the large hall and bounced off the walls with great speed. I was breathing quickly and my breath hitched when I heard a dark chuckle come from behind me. I fell to the ground and attempted to get back on my feet, but to no avail. As the chuckle turned to a laugh I closed my eyes waiting to feel a fist smash into my cheek, but it never came. Instead I heard a thump and opened my eyes to see the boy skid across the shiny wooden floor. My eyes widened in shock at the sight. I was relieved but a bit disappointed. I deserved that punch, I had beat up a lot of people lately, just because I was angry at my dad. Just yesterday I had kicked this newbie in the ribs, I had smiled at the sound of his bones cracking and laughed when I watched him limp away crying. I really did deserve to be punished. Suddenly someone grabbed my waist and pulled me up onto my feet.
I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up to find the boss grinning down at me. Hayato Kuroda, was the best fighter at the delinquent school. He was feared by all, apart from his friends. His friends were amusing and sweet, that I had to admit. But the boss himself was scary. He always caught me off guard and rudely poked his tongue out at anyone he saw. He was well known for being a master of the arts of blackmail.
I found my courage and glared at him with all my might, but he only laughed as he rummaged around in his pocket for something. I watched his hands pull a phone out of his pocket and gasped when I saw it flash. He stuck his tongue out at me as he showed me the picture that he took. I growled at him and attempted to punch him hard in the face, but of course, I missed. Suddenly he placed his hand over my mouth and said in a horrible mocking little voice,
"You can be my errand girl until my lackey decides to come back. If you don't do what I ask, I'll press the send button and everyone will see what a coward you really are." He gave me an evil grin and then finally let go of me. I stepped back and gave him a look that could kill.
"Why the fuck should I listen to you!? Why can't you just wait for your little lackey to come back?" He opened his mouth to yell at me but was interrupted by a very girlie scream. I looked round and found a boy who looked a BIT girlie. I stared at him and noticed that he had a bag filled to the brim paper, doughnuts and ice-cream. I turned to look at Hayato with a quizzical look in my eyes. He looked at me and smiled as he held up picture and deleted it. I sighed in relief and started when I saw that he walked past me, gently brushing his skin against my shoulder. I felt light headed as my heart skipped a beat, everything went by in slow motion as he slowly and gracefully walked toward the boy. I continued to look at his back as he took the boy's wig off. I was so focused on the muscles that covered his bare back that I didn't really register what was going on; the only thing that really got my attention was that the girl was blushing as Hayato-san helped her hand out the doughnuts. I could tell that she liked him and that he liked her.
As I watched them all walk away with smiles on their faces I felt lonely, but happy that I had met them. Hopefully one day, I too could find that kind of happiness. One day I will...too bad it won't be with him.
