He would NEVER notice because she made sure he wouldn't… or at least that's what she told herself.

Being a new goddess was hard on her, mainly because she had a crush immediately, on a married man (or god?). Truthfully she thought her luck couldn't get any worse, until he started hitting on her.

The flirting began with cat-calls, then escalated to pick-up lines, and eventually became perverted jokes. She would try to shut him down with cold intelligent remarks but he would just laugh and say something like, "Jeez 'thena tryin ta cock block or what?" then give his signature wink. She would mutter something about immaturity and stalk away so he wouldn't see her blush.

She had sworn to be an eternal maiden so she wouldn't get sidetracked from her studies, yet he would still show up if anything just to harass her. Most of the time he would pull pranks and say jokes just to get her angry- or so she thought. The theory that he was just doing all of those stupid stunts to annoy her vanished when she stumbled across his journal (though she preferred the term diary).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Flash Back~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her annoying Uncle was visiting Olympus so she decided to get back at him by finding something personal of his then giving Hermes the message to give to all the gods. Upon entering his room she had to laugh there, on his dresser, was a small green book with a labile that said "Journal". She scrutinized his intellect for frivolously leaving his personal journal lying out in the open.
Curiosity over whelming her she opened the book to around the time he got married. "Today I am a new god. Well not really I'm just married. Yup… Ok I'll admit I hate her so much I could barely look at her through the whole wedding. Sure she's beautiful and nice but… she is just… ugh I don't even know why I don't like her. Well by Frank I'll write in you tomorrow." There was so much wrong with that entry I couldn't respond.
Flipping to a random page I began to read "Oh my gods she is so beautiful!" wait what! Wandering who "she" was I looked at the date and my heart stopped… it was the day I was "born". No, he couldn't- wouldn't talk about me that way, right? Well only one way to find out. "My brother's daughter Athena was born today and I swear on the river Styx she is more beautiful than Aphrodite." My plan forgotten, I dropped the book and ran out of that room as fast as I could!
After that day her crush became love and she made sure of one thing… he would NEVER find out: that Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy loved Poseidon, lord of the seas.
