Labyrinth of Stone
Today was a normal day.
Well, as normal as Tino's days got anyway.
Currently he was sitting on the stone floor of his mother and fathers longhouse, awaiting their decision. What was to be decided, you may ask? Well today was the first day the Chieftain was requesting to send him out. You see, Tino had a gift. His gift was not seeing the things the Chieftain was sending him out for, but for being able to touch them, influence them, and stop them. Everyone in the village could see these creatures, but none have had either the bravery, stupidity, or talent to touch them.
Tino had all three of these.
He saw his mother turn and look down on him with sad, red eyes. To him, there was no more questioning the decision now. "Tino...you will go." That was it...his fathers words, set in stone. Rising to his feet, Tino walked slowly, almost sadly, over to his parents. "I'll miss you mama...papa." His father sighed and put a hand on his shoulder, "It's only for the week, now you should go." Nodding, Tino packed a small sack, filling it with bread, fish, and dried meat, along with a few tunics and wool socks. Kissing his mother on the cheek and nodding to his father one last time, Tino made his way out the door.
~A/N- Hey you guys, if you're reading this A/N thanks a bunch. Ok well I know this is very very short but you can expect a lot more. Believe me, you're probably going to need a few breaks with this fanfiction. I'm probably going to have 3,000 words a chapter and i'm not too sure how many chapters there's gonna be. So I hope you stick with this, and the reason i'm not really explaining a lot here is because the next chapter is going to explain a lot. This is kind of like the prologue, just to give you a little taste. :)
