Okay this is a really pointless one shot about Izzy and it's probably really bad but reviews are welcome!

Isabelle woke up with a start as the thunder crashed through the Institute quickly followed by a bright flash of lightning making her squeal slightly. Looking around for her witchlight she cursed softly when she couldn't find it.

Taking a deep breath she wrapped the blanket tighter around her shoulders and carefully walked across the room. Stumbling over one of her boots she reached the door and pulled it open.

The hall was dimly lit with the witchlight but she took no notice as she walked down the hall with wide scared eyes.

The door down the hall creaked slightly as she pushed it open and walked inside. Pushing it shut behind her.

Walking across the spotless floor she reached the bed and reached out to shake her brother awake.

"What?" He mumbled tiredly.

Another clash of thunder sounded and she whimpered slightly and her eyes scrunched together at the lightning.

"The storm?" He guessed, looking up at her as she nodded. He untangled himself from the sheets and pulled them back. Letting Isabelle slide in, he wrapped his arm around her waist and she sighed as she felt safer, resting her head against his shoulder. The heat of his body easily distinguishable through her blanket.

"Thanks Jace," She whispered.

"No problem, Iz," He replied sleepily.

Tomorrow he would go back to his sarcastic remarks and teasing comments.

Tomorrow she would go back to acting like nothing bothered her.

But right now his sister needed his comfort and right now she needed to admit she was scared.

The same thing happened every time there was a storm, ever since she was twelve. Just after Jace became Alec's parabati, he found her curled up in a linen closet clutching her witchlight in her hand wrapped tightly in two blankets, flinching violently every time the thunder cracked or the lightning struck.

It was ironic really because Isabelle Lightwood was like a storm. Her whip cracked through the air like the lightning and yet it was the storms in the sky that terrified her the most.

In Jace's arms he protected her from the storm outside just like he did when they were fighting demons. Together.

Just a little notice, I am currently writing a Mortal Instruments story which I will be posting as soon as soon as I get a chance to proof read it. So keep an eye out for that! :)
