Oh shit. Please no. He's going to kiss me on the cheek... for the third time in six years. The first time it was undercover, I decided to let it slide. The second time, he was apologising, I was mad at him, this time we're undercover again. As husband and wife. He suggested it! The last time we were engaged, does this mean... Gerry is hinting that he wants to marry me, have a relationship?
You see, I'm in love with Gerry. I hope he loves me too. I've loved him ever since he kissed me on the cheek for the first time.
"Darling" says Gerry coming towards me. 'Oh, hi' I shoot a panicky look at Jack, and then lean forward. He kisses me on the cheek. Again!
'Gerry! What the hell were you thinking?! Why did you kiss me? Again?' I ask him. Jack's just nipped the loo, I'm interrogating Gerry whilst I've got the chance. "Well, I er, ummm" Gerry stutters. 'Spit it out, Standing!' I reply. "Well... I love you" he admits. His words hit me like... well; it's unlike anything I've ever experienced.
'Are you serious? You're not winding me up? Promise?' I ask. Excuse me for being sceptical, but Gerry could be having a joke. "No." Gerry replies. "Let me prove it" he then kisses me. Not on the cheek this time. On the lips.
"Have you two finally got together then?" Jack asks. Gerry and I jump apart. Our faces are scarlet. "Er, well, I suppose" Gerry says. He looks as if he wants the ground to swallow him up. I feel the same. "You don't need to look so scared! I'm glad that you have finally noticed that Gerry loves you" Jack smiles. I smile back. 'That's good, then' I reply. "We won't be soppy at work, we promise" Gerry adds. 'Oi, I'm going to be the one in charge, don't you dare start making all the rules!' I joke. "It's taken six years for you to get together, better late than never!" Jack smiles.
