"Yao, hurry up!" Fourteen-year-old Aki Sato calls out to her best friend. "We're going to be late!"

"Hold on!" The taller girl responds, annoyed. "I'm looking for my shirt!"

Aki heaves a heavy, obnoxious sigh. "You have, like, 5 of the same exact shirt. How hard can it be to find one?"

"I'll be right there, ok- Aha!" Yao stumbles out of the room, pulling a t-shirt on over her head. She grins as she adjusts the shirt, a giant, gleaming picture of a black-haired, green-eyed boy staring from it. "I got it!" The brunette sighs satisfyingly as she crosses her arms across her chest.

"Great." Aki shrugs on her jacket, covering her t-shirt, which matches her friend's. "Let's go."

And so the pair make their way down to the arena they visit nearly every night, chatting excitedly, waving their arms flamboyantly as they talk.

"Do you think they're going to win?" Aki begins, raising a single eyebrow.

"Well, of course, Bolin can do anything."

"I'm not so sure, though, what with that new waterbender?"

"Aki, don't talk like that about the Avatar!"

"Well, what if her and Bolin start dating?"

Yao scoffs. "She's so not pretty enough to date him, don't worry."

"I guess..." Aki trails off and the two don't speak for a few moments, only the sound of their shoes scuffing against the pavement and the occasional random screech from children playing on the streets interrupting the silence, until the shorter of the two gasps, eyes growing wide. "Wait, Yao!" She stops in her tracks, grabbing her best friend's arm, hands suddenly sweaty with panic. "Wh-when we finally get to meet Bolin in person... What if he can't choose between the two of us?"

Yao ponders the question for a minute before answering with a, "He could always choose both of us."

Aki frowns, but nods. "I guess so." She mumbles, beginning to walk the final distance to the arena. "But I get to kiss him first."

They settle down in their usual spots, popcorn sitting on their laps as they stare at the- temporarily- empty court. The chatter of the few people who were in the arena are blocked out by their anticipation as they bounce excitedly in their seats- front row, closest to the Fire Ferret entrance, to ensure that Bolin would be able to hear their screams as he comes out.

"I told you to hurry up." Aki sneers as she watches more and more people pour into the arena. "We're not the first ones here."

"So?" Yao shrugs, popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth. "We still got the best seats."

"Whatever." Aki rolls her eyes, crossing her arms, waiting for her dream guy (and the rest of his team, she guesses) to finally enter the court.

But, soon enough, the time comes when the Fire Ferrets saunter onto the court, and, as always, Yao and Aki shriek and scream so loud they nearly lose their voices. "Bolin! Bolin, I love you!" And they swoon and get their breaths caught in their throats when he winks at them.

It seemed like a very regular night. The Fire Ferrets, of course, beat their opposing team, Mako and Korra doing okay- but Bolin, of course, being fantastic, obviously pulling most of the weight of the team. Because he can do that.

"Ugh." Aki grumbles as she spots Bolin glance at Korra, not noticing the waterbender having all eyes on a certain firebender. "Look at that. I hate her."

"She's not pretty enough for him." Yao rolls her eyes, finishing off their popcorn. "Christ, I bet she stole all the boyfriends back in the water nat-"

Her words are cut off as the crowd suddenly erupts in a roar of catcalls and wolfwhistles, and the two girls manage to peel their eyes off Bolin and to where the rest of the crown was gaping- to Korra and Mako kissing right in the middle of the court.

"Well," Yao starts. "Guess we don't have to worry about her."
