~We Fell In Love~

Your daughter came upstairs

Today and asked me

'What was it like

To fall in love with Papa, Daddy?'

I had no answer for her

That seemed enough

All the emotions I went through

Just seemed too much.

So while lying in bed

Waiting up for you

It all became clear

And suddenly I knew just what to do.

Tomorrow night, I'll call our Kanae upstairs

And say to her

That though it is tough

To explain all the mirth,

Here's what falling in love was like

For your Papa and Daddy:

It was like trying to draw a birdie

That keeps flying away.

Yet, it was like coming home from school

Without anything left to get in the way of endless play.

And it was like playing a game

Without knowing any of its rules.

It was like having no money or property

But winning Monopoly.

It was like fighting a fire

That regardless of what you do just won't go out.

Yes, that was what it was like for me

To fall in love.

So the day came

And I told her that

But she stared at me puzzled

And asked:

'So what did you and Papa do

When you knew that

Without a doubt

You were in love?'

She'd stumped me again

With that question

How could I answer her

Without saying too much?

But just then you returned home

And seeing an escape

I'll called 'Papa' upstairs

Post haste,

And so Kanae asked again,

And you ended up completely red.

You said:

'Wouldn't you rather know how?

How exactly your Daddy and I

Got to the point we are now?'

She nodded rapidly

And you recounted the events

Of our marriage

As I worked, making no comments.

But seeing your lovely face as you spoke

And called me (of all things) your dove

Was enough to remind me of all the reasons

That we fell in love.

A/N: Like? Love it? Hate it? Drop a word! And expect the next chappie of 'Love Game,' by tomorrow evening! This poem finally managed to get things flowing!

-squeal-

Oh, and on that note, this is an edited variation of a poem I wrote for my Home-Work for Literature.

I messed with it a little, to make it sound more tsundere because it's from Zero's point-of-view (hope everyone got that), and changed the daughter's name to make it obvious whose kid she is. Oh! Then there was the whole 'Mommy - Papa' thing…

Lol
