A/N: Can't decide what to call it; suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I don't have a crush on Clark. Really, I don't. No matter how much it hurts to see him falling all over himself for Lana Lang. No matter how amazing he looks shirtless. No matter how his gorgeous smile makes my knees weak. No matter how those steel-blue eyes are so intense, it's like he's looking right through me the few times he bothers to look.

Despite all that, I don't have a crush on Clark.

But I still wish sometimes he would notice me.

I don't care what people think of me. Really, I don't. No matter the sting of the vicious hate mail I get for my scathing editorials. No matter that I have to fight back tears when I walk down the hall with Pete and Clark and see people whispering and pointing. No matter how insulting it is that no one knows my name, that I'm just the quirky editor of the Torch. No matter that the last time a guy was interested, he ended up trying to suck my body heat.

Despite all that, I don't care what people think of me.

But I still wish sometimes I could be like everybody else.

The Wall Of Weird and the Torch are everything to me. Really, they are. No matter how lonely it can be doing layout on Friday nights while my friends are at the Beanery. No matter how nice it would be to able to say I actually have a social life. No matter how hard it is trying to keep up with all the weirdness in Smallville. No matter how many freaks try to kill me.

Despite all that, the Wall Of Weird and the Torch are everything to me.

But I still wish sometimes I could just disregard it all.

I want to get out of Smallville more than anything. Really, I do. No matter how much I cherish simple things like coffee with Clark and Pete. No matter how tailgate parties occasionally border on amusing. No matter what fun the 3 of us can have just working at the Torch after school and the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. No matter what a great time I had with Pete at the homecoming dance.

Despite all that, I want to get out of Smallville more than anything.

But I still wish sometimes it would last forever.
