Sometimes being with Tendou could be downright frustrating. There was only so much "Obaa-san said" that a person could handle, not to mention his inhuman ability to do everything perfectly. It had a habit of making Kagami feel a bit, well inferior. Left him wondering what someone like Tendou was doing with someone like him in the first place.
Tendou was extremely picky, at times to the point where you wanted to pull out your own hair and growl in aggravation. It took an exorbitant amount of patience to handle the nitpicking and sly comments. Which were said with such smoothness that it took a normal person a moment to realize that they were being teased, of course that meant that with Kagami it took a bit longer than the norm.
They were in Kagami's apartment, he'd been attempting to cook dinner and make something other than instant noodles while Tendou hovered in the background. The other man was doing what Kagami had dubbed 'backseat cooking' and was causing every movement to be second guessed. As Kagami reached for the salt Tendou made a soft tsking noise off to his right, when he went to take the lid off the pot a bit to early for Tendou's tastes he found a firm hand covering his own with enough pressure to keep the lid on top of its perch. The combination of Tendou's warm breath against his neck, the closeness of the other body, and frazzled nerves was enough to cause Kagami to drop the spoon he was holding.
Tendou chuckled and Kagami frowned as he bent to retrieve the utensil from the tiled floor. He glared at it as if it had somehow offended him before throwing it into the sink with an audible clank. He thrust a clean spoon at Tendou who took it with an amused expression, one slim eyebrow raised in a silent question.
"Here," Kagami knew his tone was a bit curt but his pride had been bruised "You don't trust my cooking then you do it."
Tendou just gave him the usual smug smile and reached for the spoon. He was about to abandon the small kitchen for the equally small living room when he felt Tendou's arm around his waist and he was pulled flush against a muscled chest. The kiss was over to quickly but it was enough to leave him dazed, having to pause and gather his wits while Tendou, still smiling, got to work salvaging dinner.
Yes being with Tendou was frustrating but, Kagami thought as he touched his lips and smiled, it was not without its perks.
