Disclaimer: I own nothing. Also no beta, mistakes are mine and mine alone.

Author's Note: My other idea for week 5 of the MC Hiatus Challenge. I wrote this after realising the sudden change in Andy's behaviour towards Jack, I don't know if this was ever explained, here is sort of maybe what changed his mind about the Captain's not-quite ex-husband.

The case had been long and tedious thus the team hadn't slept well in nearly three days. Everyone was tired and cranky, Provenza especially, most were putting on brave faces but the office was very tense.

"Flynn, get the captain, let's get this asshole sorted" Provenza instructed, after their suspect had enough evidence against him to put him away for life. Slowly Andy got up, Sharon had left the main office to go to her own private office to finish some paperwork some 2 hours ago and while nothing was going on between them, he was worried about her.

Jack Raydor had visited her a few days ago and while he had liked the guy he was suspicious of what had gone on between the married couple back when they were actually together.

There was no answer when tapped on her door so he let himself in, just in case. He smirked to himself, she was sat on her sofa, asleep, a pen falling out her hand, her glasses balancing on the tip of her nose and the coffee table in front of her covered in various papers. Approaching her placed a hand on her knee to wake her. He hadn't expected her to move away, stuck in her dream.

"Jack I'm tired, let me be. Please" she begged, her voice so different from what he was used to. He got up and touched her arm shaking her slightly.

"I don't care, you're drunk, and I'm tired. You try handling a toddler and a month old baby" her mumbles became less coherent but Andy knew what she was saying and his blood boiled at the thought.

"Sharon, it's me Andy" he had kneeled by her again. Once again she didn't wake, Andy sighed, she was clearly having a nightmare, he noticed from the corner of his eye her legs moving, kicking more like.

"I said no!" her eyes shot open, her breathing fast. Her head shook for a moment before her eyes focussed on Andy's. They stared at each other.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered, feeling somewhat responsible. Back in the day he and Jack would go drinking and Andy could remember offering that extra round before going.

"Please just forget about it. I have." She sat up smiling weakly.

"You don't understand, I used to buy him drinks. If I had known of his family I…" Sharon gently placed a hand on his arm.

"Andy stop. I know he didn't meet you until Ricky was 3 or 4, by then he didn't really live at home he just came when he needed money." She explained, she had followed him once and seen him with Andy Flynn, she remembered being sick to the back teeth of Jack's disappearing act and decided to find out a little more.

"Did he ever…Did he" the older man hesitated, not wanting to plague his thoughts with those images.

"No. He was drunk and usually fell unconscious after a few minutes, granted it was usually on top of me but I was a cop I could deal with some heavy drunk man crushing me." She smiled, trying to lighten the mood. She stood up brushing her skirt down. They were silent for a while, Sharon's long sigh reminded the Lieutenant why he had come here in the first place.

"Oh yeah, the suspect is ready we can go for a deal DDA Rios is here" he rolled his eyes. It was no secret that the Major Crimes division preferred Hobbs to Rios.

"Finally!" she sighed her response sounding just a little too relieved. As they walked to the door her hand reached for the crook of his elbow "Andy, I know it will be hard to forget but…can you…let me bring it up, if I need to" she looked into his eyes and watched his mouth curl up slightly.

"I don't know what you talking about." He smirked making light of the situation it was at that moment Sharon realised that she had indeed found a friend in Andy Flynn and that it was going to last.
