'The music is still playing...' Romein LeTouse thought sullenly. He was busy supervising one of Lamiroir and Machi's practice sessions...and he was bored out of his mind. Machi, who Romein thought was a bit too young to being doing stuff like this, had gone to the bathroom. Thus, only he and Lamiroir were in the small basement together, the tape recorder still playing their music.

Lamiroir was sitting in a fold-out chair, muttering quietly to herself. She had once said she could only perform as long as Machi is there to work with her, but Romein doubted that was the truth. 'Jeezus...how much lemonade did that kid drink on the way over here?' Romein wondered, when he realized Machi had been in the bathroom for fifteen minutes.

Romein was about to get up and forcefully drag that kid off the toliet when Lamiroir said, "...Romein, what do you think of this part of the lyrics?" The secret Interpol agent sighed and turned his head to the tape recorder. It was playing one of Lamiroir's more popular songs, 'Crush Thy Heart':

Turning, Turning

Never Stopping, even to breathe

What is love,

But A Fleeting Memory?

Drawing In Us All In Its Infernal Bliss,

We lose ourselves to its power.

To Crush Thy Heart,

One must be one with thy darkness in thy self...

As he listened to the song, Romein wasn't even sure what he was supposed to be thinking about. 'These lyrics don't even make much sense! What am I supposed to say?' Romein wondered as he glanced over at Lamiroir. She looked so peaceful with her eyes closed, softly humming along to the music.

Romein grinned to himself. 'She may be older than me...but I always feel like the old man in our relationship...' he thought with a small chuckle. Suddenly, he realized something...he and Lamiroir didn't have a relationship. Even though he didn't have the most open-minded personality, he still needed someone to love!

'Love...how many years has it been since I've truly been in love...?' Romein remembered how his wife had left him five years ago, taking their daughter with her. It pained him just to think about it. Yet, after so long, he may have just found a woman he really cares about now.

Romein stood up and walked over to Lamiroir. Smiling at him, she asked innocently, "Yes, Romein? Is there something wrong?" Romein bent slightly forward and, holding out a hand, asked, "...Would you like to dance, Lamiroir?" Although Lamiroir was blind, she didn't need any help placing her petite hand into Romein's large open palm.

His lips forming into a gentle smile, Romein dragged Lamiroir out onto the dance floor and held her close. As their bodies moved slowly back and forth to the music's soft melody, Lamiroir pressed her head against Romein's chest and sighed happily.

Both Romein and Lamiroir were too busy dancing with one another to notice Machi peeking into the room. He had actually just excused himself so he could get Romein and Lamiroir alone for a while. 'Heh...those two make a cute couple...' the little boy thought with a chuckle.

Now, with a bag of Borginian Cocoons clutched in his hands, Machi ran off to meet up with Daryan, leaving Romein and Lamiroir in a beautiful embrace.
