I didn't saw her fall. I knew she would protect these dwarf but not till death.

I slowly walked over to her body. Almost expecting her to jump to her feet and laugh but she wouldn't. She was dead.

I sunk down on my knees.

„Tauriel", I whispered and brushed away a strand of her hair.

Mankoi?", I asked in knowing she would never answer me. I would never hear her voice again. Never see her smile again. Never be able to go hunting with her. Or star-gazing. Never be able to argue with her again about the simple things. Who will be there when I can't move on anymore? I would never be able to share my thoughts with her again.

She laid there gazing in the sky. I carefully closed her eyes, praying a farewell. I kissed her forehead. Then I stood up and left. A single tear slowly making its way down my cheek. Wiping it away, I looked into night sky. A small but sad smile forming on my lips. How much she loved the night.

Slowly I walked away from the battlefield. I didn't look back.

The stars were alive in her eyes and they will not forget her. Neither will I.

Mankoi? - Why?

Namaarie - Farewell
