Well, actually, I'm not into RyoSaku pairing, but the idea just came in the midnight when insomnia attacked me for the nth time :P I typed this through mobile facebook in my notes at 11:44 :D

Not a Frog Prince

"...and they lived happily ever after."

Sakuno bit her lower lip after mumbling the last sentence of a story she was reading. Were all the stories involving princes and princesses ending like that? Happily. Ever. After. What a nonsense joke.

Speaking of prince, it was surely her long-time crush, Echizen Ryoma. The prince of tennis. Not as handsome or brave as the legendary-sounding heroes of fairy tales, but he was enough a prince for Sakuno. Would their story end happily ever after too?

She closed the book with a loud thud, then strode out of library. There was no practice schedule today. She slung her duffel bag, passing by the court.

And of course, gazing admiringly to a certain Fila capped freshman. Her prince.

Hmm, the regulars of boy's tennis club seemed to have extra menu. He adjusted his cap, pointing to his senpai, Momoshiro, by his red racquet while saying the famous catchphrase of his.

"Mada mada dane." Sakuno mumbled, smiling softly.

Until she realized that her tennis ball involuntarily fell off and rolled forward.

She chased the ball in futile, because that lime-colored orb was now in Ryoma's hand.

"This."

Sakuno winced, hastily taking her belonging. "A-arigatou, Ryoma-kun."

But he already drew farther.

She sighed. Stealing a glance at the tennis ball, she suddenly felt like déjà vu. Wait. Was it similar to the Princess and the Frog tale? Except that the ball wasn't golden and she wasn't definitely an exasperating, spoiled little princess.

She sighed again.

And Ryoma wasn't the prince in disguise who was waiting for her chaste kiss.

Now she believed that not all the princess-centric stories had such happy ending. Nevertheless, she wished that she had been wrong.

So, what do you think? :) teehee
