Chapter 1: I never used to do this
It didn't start out like this, it never would've crossed my mind. Until Cisco would sometimes playfully tease me, coworkers would stare, and pretty much anywhere I ate. So I just started not going out to eat and started packing lunches instead... then I started skipping breakfast. I mean I usually woke up late and breakfast wasn't important right? Not long after you can guess I started skipping lunch, I mean I would eat a calorie bar that's enough right? Soon the calorie bars disappeared. Then the only thing I ate was dinner, I couldn't skip it because I almost always ate dinner with Joe and Iris. I thought it would be fine but it turned way worse...
Everything was dark and nice until the loud annoying sound of beeping filled my ears. I turned my head towards my alarm clock it was 5:30 am, but it was Saturday. I groggily got out of bed and changed into a T-shirt and some jeans. I tiptoed into the kitchen and filled a glass with some water, usually I just went straight out but my stomach was hurting again gnawing at itself, I took a swig of water. I set the glass down and headed for the door to get to S.T.A.R Labs. I never have done this before. Well never at 5:30 in the morning, but Joe always made breakfast on the weekends. So I had to get away somehow. I opened the front door and raced to S.T.A.R Labs. I stopped in the middle of the cortex. I though I was alone because no one is usually here until 6:00 am. I just started walking to one of the monitors when I was hit with a dizzy spell a now common factor of my life. I stumbled and found my grip on the table. I was just about to let go and stand up when I heard the clicking of high heels on the floor. "Barry?" I heard Catlin asking me and I turned around "H-Hey Catlin!" I said surprised. " Are you ok, your not looking to good." Catlin looked at me with a worried face. "Yea I'm fi-" "Are you eating enough, you look a little skinny..." Catlin looked squinting her eyes at me. "Aren't I always skinny!" I joked. Catlin was not amused "Follow me." She demanded, I looked at her "Why?" I realized I shouldn't have said that because she glared daggers at me. And I against my own will followed her into the med-bay. "Ok, now I am going to take your blood sugar and your weight." She said professionally. I reluctantly sat down in the chair and Catlin stuck a needle in my arm, I watched as the blood slowly filled up the syringe. Finally Catlin was done and she put my blood in a tester. "Now, step on the scale." She huffed at me, once again I timidly stepped on the scale 170 is what it read. "BARRY!" Catlin yelled "You will explain to me right now, why you have lost eleven pounds!" and then she looked at me with fire in her eyes.
