This is my first fanfic, it's just a oneshot but I wanted to try my hand at writing, if I get a good response I might write some more. Enjoy!
It's The Little Things

"Kakashi?"
"Unngrmph."
"Kakashi? I've got to go, I'll be back in a hour, 'kay?"
"Urmphkay." The wad of blankets moving in what Iruka assumed was agreement. 'Kakashi's going to love his surpise!' Iruka thought happily as he walked down the street to pick up Kakashi's gift.
Kakashi woke up to an empty bed, 'That's weird, Iruka's always stays in bed with me on the weekends.' He vaguely remembered Iruka waking him up and telling him he was going out. Kakashi sat up and stretched, his body cracking and popping. He stood up and began walking to the bathroom when he noticed Iruka's small stuffed scarecrow lying on the floor, he picked it up and gently set it in the middle of the bed. Kakashi smiled at it, remembering how Iruka reacted when he saw the little scarecrow.
"I got something for you." Kakashi said, swinging a plastic bag in the air. Iruka frowned and the bag stopped swinging. Kakashi deflated, "Don't you want it?"
"YES! I mean, yes, I do. Just, what's the occasion?"
"Does there have to be an occasion?" Kakashi pouted, which wouldn't be visible through his mask but he always pulled down his mask whenever he got home. Iruka laughed at his cute lover, "No, there doesn't. Can I have it now?" Iruka reached out for the bag, Kakashi pouted a little bit more then handed the bag over. Iruka opened it and gasped, "Oh, Kakashi."
"What are you going to name it?"
"…Shi-kun." Iruka hugged Shi-kun close, then he gave Kakashi a small kiss. "Thank you."
The door opened, bringing Kakashi back to the present. He walked into the living room to see Iruka shut the door holding a paper bag. "What's in the bag?"
"Don't know, guess you'll have to open it." Iruka teased. Kakashi walked up to him, kissed him, and took the bag. He opened it and reached in, pulling out a hand-sized dolphin plushie. Kakashi smiled, looking at the little dolphin. Iruka couldn't wait any longer, "What is his name?"
"Ru-chan."
