Disclaimer: I own NOTHING! Narnia and all related characters are property of Clive Staples Lewis, one of the best authors there is (second only to his chum J.R.R. Tolkien). I own just the scene.
Author's Notes: I just recently watched The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and I was reminded once again of the bitter, undeniable truth: Caspian and Ramandu's Daughter belong together! And so this short, one-shot, AU fic has a two-fold purpose. One, to say goodbye (at least a decent one) to the Suspian-ship. Two, this is a gift to the fans of Ramandu's Daughter (or Lilliandil).
The Memory of Their Last Dance
A soft ballad wafted through the open windows of the Pevensies' Finchley home. Caspian and Susan started to sway and move around the living room of the flat. They continued their gentle, almost, unnoticeable, dance even as the song had already stopped playing...they probably didn't even notice the music playing at all.
When they finally came to their senses, Caspian gingerly, almost reluctantly, relinquished his hold on Susan. She, in turn, took a step back and looked at him with a rueful smile. They looked at each other for a few moments, neither saying a word.
Then, Caspian tried to break the silence, intending to finally whisper his farewell to her. But as he leaned close to her ear to utter those words, she turned her head and placed a finger upon his lips. She told him that he did not need to bid her farewell, instead tell her that they would meet again. Caspian shook his head in reply, but stroked her cheek with his hand. Susan inclined her head towards his hand, as if savoring the touch. He bit his lip and, fearing they might end up doing something they would regret in the morning, pressed his lips to hers in a swift kiss. He then rushed to the front door and fled from the apartment, his eyes burning.
