A/N: I know I shouldn't start a new fanfiction when I'm still writing my other fanfiction but this idea popped into my head and wouldn't go away. Also, this is my first fanfic written from the point of view of the character, not third person. So, bear with me!
Annabeth's POV
"Marlene!" I called, staggering through the front door, "Marlene!"
My arms aching from the weight of the papers I'm holding, I stumble into Mother's office and dump the papers on her desk. I walk down the hall and into the kitchen, where I see a note lying on the kitchen table.
Annabeth-
I've gone out shopping and won't be back until around 5. Your mother is out at a business dinner and won't be back until about 10. Dinner is in the fridge unless you want to wait until I get back.
-Marlene
I sigh, blowing a bit of my hair out of my face. Great. Mother's out, Marlene's out, and I've had one of the worst days of school in possibly my entire life. Who am I supposed to rant to now?
Oh. I pull out my phone.
Annabeth: Help me Thals, I need to vent.
Thalia: Shoot.
Annabeth: So I get to school and drop of my books in my first class – English. I figure I have enough time to pop by the library and grab some books on Business. I turn the corner, and you know what I see? Luke and Kelli making out in the MIDDLE OF THE HALLWAY. So I go over to them and I'm like, "WTF, Luke? We're DATING". And they break apart, and Luke's like, "Sorry Annie, it's over." And then he walks away, holding hands with Kelli and snickering with her. And it only got WORSE from there.
Thalia: I'm intrigued. Do go on.
Annabeth: So I go back to English, and Mrs. Chade passes back the vocab quiz we had last week. AND I GOT AN A-
Thalia: So?
Annabeth: All because I spelled antidisestablishmentarianism wrong!
Thalia: Uh . . . come again?
Annabeth: Antidisestablishmentarianism. Opposition to the disestablishment of a church or religious body; specifically, strong opposition to the disestablishment of a state church as was manifested in Ireland in 1869, when Gladstone disestablished the Irish church (Protestant) to which all of the people, including Roman Catholics, had been compelled to pay tithes. (A/N: Definition from )
Thalia: . . . Right. Continue.
Annabeth: So then I go to the cafeteria (all of my other classes were fine) and realized that I don't have anywhere to sit! I always sat with Luke, since we had been dating since the beginning of high school. But there was no way in HELL I was sitting with that asshole CHEATER. So I had to sit outside. NO ONE who's ANYONE sits OUTSIDE.
Thalia: Wow, your school is harsh.
Annabeth: It's more like the social groups are harsh, actually.
Thalia: Whatever. Go on.
Annabeth: After school I get a call from Mother, asking me to come to her office and pick up some papers for her. The only this is, she didn't mention HOW MUCH paperwork. So I was staggering around, pathetically meandering my way to my car, when I TRIP. So the papers go flying everywhere, and it takes me half an hour to even pick them up and get into my car. Then I get home, and Marlene isn't even home to help me carry the paperwork to Mother's office.
Thalia: I pity you.
Annabeth: Thank you. GTG, Marlene's home.
Thalia: K bye
A/N: I know it's not much, but Annabeth and Percy will be meeting soon, yay! So review what you thought, BYEE!
