I was moving my hips to the beat of the music, my white hair was in wild curls that bounced as I danced. Trigger was dancing with Harley, his hand on her hips as I danced with his brother Shocks. The four of us were nothing more than friends, except Trigger and Harley, they were wrapped in each other to the point you could hardly see one without the other. This was a normal Friday night to us, till my phone vibrated, I excused myself and stepped out into cold, fall, midnight air, "Krystal." I answered.
"Krys, hey, It's dad." I grinned, a phone call from dad was rare as he tried to let me have as normal a life a possible.
"Daddy! Hey!" I giggled, "What's up?" I asked as I sat on the club steps.
"I was calling to ask if you've looked on the news." This wasn't normal, dad never called to talk about current events unless they were relevant to me, him or Pepper.
"No. Why? Daddy, what's going on?" I ran over scenarios in my mind, from best to horrid. "Baby girl, listen. I got pulled into some dangerous business with the Avengers program I told you about. I covered my mouth as I realized, my dad was in danger, life-threatening danger, "It's all coming to a head and I wanted to talk to you before things...if things go wrong."
"No. No, things are not going to go wrong Dad. You are going to be fine, you're going to be alive tomorrow on your couch drinking whiskey while Pepper chews you out. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DIE!" I cried as it came out that this was a goodbye call. I didn't want to believe this was happening, vaugely I could feel my powers acting up, small bottles in the trash can shattered.
"Don't start crying, Krys. Please baby." I sniffled as I dried my eyes, "I love you."
"I love you too daddy. Please be careful, you're all I got." I whispered into the phone, my face in my hand.
"The two reasons I'm even doing this is because you and Pepper are the two most important things in my life, the reason I'm still Iron Man." He told me, "I love you Kiddo." He hung the phone up and I started crying on the steps of a nightclub.
