A/N: I realize I should be updating my other fanfic, Runaway Lovers, but I have slightly lost inspiration for it so I have went back and edited this instead because I wasn't happy with how it turned out. I'd really appreciate it if you guys would let me know what you think about the edited version. This is just a really short one-shot I thought of when watching "The Incredible Spider-Hulk" or whatever it was called.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything thats familiar sadly :/

Ava sighed as she leans against the counter, drinks her wonderful caramel frappe, and glares at Peter for being the cause of her B- on her Algebra test today. She hates that she had to turn it in unfinished because this ridiculously cute idiot got mixed up with some mind magic and swapped bodies with the Hulk of all people. She also hates that he could sway her anger with just one of her favorite drinks and a stupid sheepish smile that had her nearly swooning.

She shook her head. No sir, he wouldn't get off that easy. She opened her mouth to rip him a new one, but he immediately held up his hands, saying, "I know how you feel about turning in incomplete... well anything really, but I am sincerely sorry. And thanks for trying to get my body back."

"You're still not off the hook yet." She said as she fights a smirk at how adorbably sheepish he looked rubbing his hand on the back his neck. Then that stupid smile is back as Peter jumped up onto the counter, looking back at her with amusement sparking in his blue swirls. " Dang... hmm what if I get you a ball of yarn? Oh, or I could get you a warm glass of milk!"

Ava narrows her eyes and starts toward him. His stupid grin instantly goes away and he holds up his hands. "I'm kidding! I'm kidding, jeez..."

They lapse into a comfortable silence for a moment, each slipping into their own thoughts. She couldn't for the life of her remember when it happened, but she realized Peter knew more about her than anyone else. Sam knew a lot about her, but was sometimes oblivious to when he needed to back off. Luke knew her a little, but they really weren't all that personal when they hung out. Danny was cool enough but they didn't spend all that much time together and if they did it was because of Peter or Luke.

It wasn't anything obvious or noticable for the others; he never really called her out on her behavior unless it was a threat to anyone. But sometimes he looked at her, as if he saw the pain she carried deep inside. As if he really saw her, in a way no one had ever been able to before.

Ava was drawn from her thoughts at the slurping noise her straw made before she realized there wasn't anything left in the cup. She rounded the island to through it away and stopped dead in her tracks. Peter had changed his position, sitting at an angle, his body turned towards her from his perch across the kitchen. His attention was completely and solely on Ava. His stare, no longer holding amusement, pinned her where she stood.

In one fluid movement, he hopped from the counter and stalked towards her. His eyes never left her and Ava swallowed at how intense they had gotten, how serious he had gotten. A shiver sent a wave of goosebumps spreading across her body. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew should move before he got too close. Things got fuzzy when he got too close and she can never think straight so thoughts of an escape route were fleeting and evasive. She briefly wondered how she had became the one to want to escape when he was the one who was at fault.

Ava allowed Peter to get within a foot of her before she shook out of her trance. She took a step away from, the force of his intense gaze pushing her backwards until she hit a wall behind her. Her heart was pounding in her ears and yep, she was starting to feel lightheaded and fuzzy.

Peter stopped what felt like millimeters away from her. Ava thought she could feel the heat rolling off his body, though it could have been her own internal themostat rising. Slowly and deliberately, Peter raised his right arm and placed his palm on the wall next to her head, leaning slightly towards her. The movement was enough for Ava to shake off some of the fog in her head.

"What are you doing, Peter?" Ava breathed, eyes wide and dang it, she hates how he's able to do this to her. She tries desperately to regain some control; to hide her inner turmoil and turn this back around on him. Why was she mad again? Right, B-.

"Well, Ava," He starts, and she didn't realize her name could sound like that and make her heart dance wildly in her chest. "I think I just thought of something that could, well, get you to forgive me."

"Like what?" Her voice cracks a little under the strain of keeping herself together. She was really having a hard time forming coherent thoughts. She couldn't remember to breathe let alone figure out Peter's cryptic reply.

His eyes took in her face, before lazily returning to hers. God, did he take some confidence pill or did she just somehow miss him being able to act so... sexy. "Well, if you want, a-"

She didn't let him finish, wrapping her hands around his neck and threading her fingers in his hair before pulling him down to crash her lips into his. His eyebrows shoot skyward and a surprised groan rips from his throat at the feeling of her lips on his.

Panic starts to fill her veins and she's about to pull back and apologize for her silly behavior before Peter's eyes flutter close and he's kissing her back, pressing his body impossibly closer. His hands wove into her hair and he angled his head to deepen the kiss. Ava moaned, her nails scraping against his scalp tenderly.

By the time they parted, they were both gasping for air and staring at each other, finding confusion and want reflecting in their eyes. Ava slid her hands down to rest on his shoulders and a smug grin spread across Peter's lips. Ava smiled carefully back and cleared her thoat, unsure to whether or not what just happened was okay.

"What?" She laughs nervously when he continues to grin at her and refuses to move back and drop his hands.

He shrugs, the grin still in place. "Nothing."

There's something smug in the way he said it that makes her feel dumb so the lightheadedness clears away and is replaced with a shameful anger that leaves a lump in her throat and a sudden feeling of rejection in the pit of her stomach. She averts her eyes and she pries his hands away, not seeing the way his grin immediately falls away. She ducks under his arm to move towards the door, wanting nothing more than to escape before she looses all control. She remembers suddenly what started it all and pauses in the doorway to mutter, "You're forgiven, Parker."

She's up the stairs and in her room before he even has a chance to understand what's going on, but once he does he takes the stairs two at a time, stopping in front of her door. He twists the knob, but its locked so he sighs and raps on the door. "Ava?"

There's some rustling but no verbal answer. "Ava, come on. Open up."

"Go away, webhead. I said it was okay." Her voice was hard, a stark contrast to the sultry tone her voice had taken on just a few seconds ago.

Peter sighs before rushing to his room, sliding out his window and crawling his way to hers and silently flinging himself in. He looks around the room, surprised to find that she was curled up on her bed. He makes his way to the other side of the bed and kneels next to her head. His gaze travels over her face and he feels a smile tug at his lips at her eyes being shut tight like a child trying to hide from the bad, bad world.

He reached out for her hand, pulling it towards him and kissing her knuckles softly as her eyes snap open at his initial touch. Ava looks at him in shock and her brown eyes travel down to where his lips were placed on her flesh. Peter ran a thumb over the spot his lips had just touched, saying warmly, "I was going to ask you out on a date, but you kissed me. That's why I was smiling."

Embarassment flooded her cheeks and she closed her eyes, biting her lip at his admission. "Oh."

She opens her eyes to find him smiling that stupid smile again, his stupid smile and her own lips twitch up as she lets out a breathless laugh. He chuckles softly leaning over and placing his chin on the matress. "How about I don't just ask you on one date, but multiply dates?"

Stifling a giggle, Ava caressed his cheek before sliding it into his hair. "Oh? Really? Kinda like asking me to exclusively date you?"

Peter shakes his head, a grin firmly in place at her teasing tone. "No. Not kinda. Definitely."

She fights a smile and her stomach does a few somersaults. "Hm, I don't know... I mean, exclusively dating Puny Parker might be bad for my rep... Though, I suppose exclusively dating Spiderman could have a few perks."

He laughs out right at that comment and lets her continue her mock consideration. She looks at him softly and when she speaks again, her voice is warm and full of affection. "But I think exclusively dating Peter Parker would be the best part of it all."

Peter looks at her, mildly shocked, and his eyes soften as he gives her a warm smile. "I'll take that as a yes."

Ava chuckles and nodded, looking into his eyes and leaning forward. Peter's hand came up to caress her face, his fingers catching her hair before it fell in her face, and met her halfway. He smiled against her lips and she pulled back only a little, their lips still a hair's breath away from each other. "You should owe me a lot more often."
