A Wayward Son
Down an empty stretch of road, he drives,
Searching for a purpose.
Stopping for each soul in need,
Saving all the lives.
Down an empty stretch of road, he drives,
Keeping watch over his brother,
The only family he has left,
In the seat just beside.
Down an empty stretch of road, he drives,
Having no place to hang his hat,
Yet never in fact homeless,
Keeping the loneliness inside.
Down an empty stretch of road, he drives,
Seeing only darkness, yet bringing light.
A man and his brother, defined by another's choices,
But still, they change their own lives.
