Chapter One

"Markus… MARKUS. MMMMARRRKKUSS!" I heard yell a familiar voice. Sheesh… Maybe a little too loud. It was my Mom, yelling at me to wake up. I casually wake my eyes open to see my mom standing over me. "Markus! Get your butt to school!" She yelled at me, really scolding me this time. This time however… I forgot to set my alarm clock. "Sorry… I forgot to set it. I'll get dressed quickly." As soon as his mom left, he changed out of his pajamas and into his normal everyday wear. It consisted of light blue-ish shoes and bright blue at the bottom and the flap of the shoes. He also had white socks that were normal sized with black sweatpants that extended a bit below his knees. He had a Navy T-Shirt with a Very Dark Blue vest and the pockets plus the ruffs near the collar were periwinkle.

When I walked into the bathroom, I brushed my teeth and combed my hair. When I was done, I saw a white skinned boy with Bright Blue eyes and Brown Hair. Boy did I look good. I took off my shirt and vest for a bit to put on deodorant. I walked out and went down stairs with my shirt and vest back on. Mom gave me a quick breakfast to take out as I almost head out the door before realizing I forgot something. Oh right! My swimming goggles. I quickly raced up stairs and put them on before leaving. "Bye Mom!" I yelled. She smiled back at me sweetly, despite what recently happened. "Goodbye! Have a good day at school!" I closed the door and proceeded to walk to school. School was alright, I was expecting more things to happen at the School.

So now… I was walking back home with a friend when we had to split ways. "Well, I will see you at school tomorrow!" My friend smiled at me and I smiled sweetly back at her with a gentle wave. "See ya!" I said as I saw her turn left and watched her walk away until I couldn't anymore. To be honest… I have a crush on that girl. She was a black girl named Rebecca and she was really pretty too! I started to walk the other direction to my house. The sky was pretty on that day and I couldn't help but feel like to jump and fly through the skies. When I got home however, as soon as I stepped through the door… My mom attacked me all of a sudden! "What the?!" I yelled out as she tackled me to the ground. I somehow managed to get her off me.

I suddenly felt this… feeling I never had happen to me before. I saw my vision darken around me except for my mom. Furthermore, I heard a sound play as my vision and my body was ready for battle. This is strange! I threw out a punch at her and did some damage to her. WHY AM I ATTACKING MY OWN MOM FOR?! She attacked back of course, like any angry mom would do but this time… this hurt even more than it should of! I would of cried out in pain and maybe collapsed but no. My body just kept standing like if nothing had ever happened. I felt like I could take another punch and threw my fist at her. I felt like I got a critical hit but it wasn't a big one. When she attacked back, the critical hit was much stronger than mine. I was on the brink of collapsing as I knew it.

I suddenly realized that I had something with me to eat. I reached into my vest pocket and pulled it out. It was some piece of candy that was my favorite. I ate it and felt like I was recovering from my injuries. Ok… this is the strangest thing I've ever had happen to me. She attacked but by some miracle, she missed. I sighed in relief and knew her weak spot was. It hit it and BAM! A lot of damage taken, it's useful to know where your parents weak spots are. She suddenly turned back to normal and I heard something like a victory fanfare play. What the..? The area around me turned back into what was my home. How did we get here? "Mom..? What happened?" I asked her. "I-I don't know Markus… I was just cooking and suddenly I blanked out." I sighed. Nothing useful here. I figured I just go upstairs and do whatever.

I did my homework and all, making my Mom proud and my ill-fated Dad as well. It was a lot and I have to study as well. So much studying… I sighed. This is going to take a while isn't it? I studied really hard and for some reason, got done quicker than I expected. My mom was so proud of me that she will give me that game I always wanted but couldn't afford. Oh gosh… How I miss playing games. My mom was really strict now I'm in High School. I ONLY just got into High School mom! I sigh again, stressed out by the recent change. She called for dinner not long after and made my favorite food, Ramen! Mm… It was so good. It filled me up. She told me to go bed not too long after and so I did. I brushed my teeth and took off my clothes into my pajamas. I went to sleep peacefully after a long day.

The next day I got up when I needed to and did the same thing. A good looking boy in the mirror like always. I left the door after eating my breakfast and getting my Goggles. I was walking along, minding my own business when suddenly, I spot one of my friends. "Oi! Chill!" I yelled out and he turned around to see me. He seemed quite happy at the fact I was there, I could even see a smile on his face! "Hey Mark! Want to walk to School together?" I chuckled and nodded, hurrying to catch up with him. Now it was a duo walking together to school. It wasn't an adventure with only just me; No, I had a traveler going along with me! Sweet! This is just what I wanted. I caught up with Chill about his family and stuff. We both had a good old smacking time!

I suddenly felt the ground shake and I look to it in surprise. "Mark! What is going on here?!" He yelled in a panicked state. "Get to cover now!" I yelled as I ran to somewhere that we couldn't get hit by anything. The only thing that could really hurt us was the ground collapsing below us. It intensified and as a result, making me hold onto the grass tighter. It was a really strong earthquake that I didn't even want to feel! Not to mention we live on an island and there is no fault around us! This was crazy! It went on and on and on for a long time. Come on, when is this going to end?! Then I thought about the island going into the ocean. This sent my heart pumping, was it really the end of the island?! I didn't want to lose my Mom, not again! I can't let it happen again like what happened with my Dad!

It finally ended and thank god too. I opened my eyes and got up as I curiously looked around. "Chill… You might want to see this…" I said as he got up and saw the surroundings. It was bad like, REALLY bad. Lots of houses were destroyed, damaged or completely gone. Fires were all around us and so much destruction was around us! I mean come on! I didn't want this to happen today! I teared up at the sight of my Mom being killed. I ran home to make sure she was ok! Dad… I hope you protected her! I was thankful that the house was still standing. My mom was outside, waiting for me to come home. "Oh sweetie, I'm glad you're alright!" She gave me a tight hug and in comfort. At least it was safe for us to go inside the house. We had to check the school to make sure it was still standing alright.

When we got to the School however… it was severely damaged with all the students out of the school. Boy it looked back and so did the surroundings. "I think there will be no school for a long time Mark." Chill commented and I agreed. School wouldn't be back at least for one or two more years. What in the world caused such a devastating earthquake?! What do we do now…? School is out for repairs and really nothing survived the Earthquake… I thought of an Idea that could be alright to hang out in. "Maybe we could go to the park..? If it isn't destroyed of course." He chuckled, trying to make humor out of the situation. "Yeah! If it is surviving, it'll be a shocker!" He made yet another joke. They laughed together as they walked to the park, enjoying the others company.

When we got to the park however, it looked untouched! Then again… it survived many perils that should have destroyed it yet defies all scientific explanation. "Whoa! It survived again! This park seems to amaze me." I commented with a face and tone that meant I was shocked and yet, surprised. "I know right?! This park is like protected with an invisible shield!" He joked in video game terms which I seemed to understand. The island we once stood on is now a giant mess. What about the other areas though? I didn't seem to be bothered by that but going by what happened here, I'd say they were about the same look as our town. I was curious at the fact as well but I didn't want to put myself at risk by going out and exploring the city.

"Why don't we catch ourselves at the bench right there?" I suggested and Chill already started to walk over there. "I'm guessing that's a yes." I stated as I followed him and took a seat once I was over there. It was comfy and relaxing as I see tents all round this massive park. This must have been a Shelter for the Earthquake. A place where they felt was the safest and could treat injuries plus get supplies out to the needed areas. I then heard some snickering as I glanced to the bullies that were walking up to us. "Heh heh… How do you want to be treated today?" They laughed as Chill started to have a scared face. I stood in front of him, quite angry. "I'll take care of them." I reassured him and suddenly, there goes that Battle Vision thing again. I was now fighting the School Bullies like with my Mom! What the..?!

I quickly threw out a punch at them but like with Mom, I missed. Each of the three School bullies threw an attack me, most of them doing very little damage but I felt some side effects from it. I felt really dizzy and made my attacks more likely to miss. I guess you can say in Pokémon terms, I was Confused but a little different. Chill attempted to attack but then he quickly backed out. I remember he wasn't too keen on fighting physically or in real life. I attacked again and did some damage to him, making him miss his attack. Chill tried to use me as a shield like if I was his Bodyguard. They attacked but only one of them managed to miss. I sighed in relief as I attacked once more, defeating one of the bullies. There were two more to go so I couldn't let my guard down yet!

Chill tried to plead with them to stop but they didn't; of course they wouldn't, they are bullies of course! They attacked once again, hitting me and strengthened the effect. I tried to attack but I missed and did some damage to myself. Ouch… I made myself look like a fool but Chill encouraged me to keep on fighting so I did. The effect wore off as I made yet another attack and yes! I landed a critical hit by some chance of luck. It finished that bully and let one standing. Me vs. the bully… I'll show him. He attack with physical strength, I'm guessing he was the leader and thus he did damage to me! Now he's serious, he wants to beat me so bad but I wouldn't give up. Another attack and hit him right in the gut! I made him miss his turn and the final attack was coming. I shot out a punch and finished him off.

I heard the victory fanfare go off again but then another feeling came off that was different than the first time. I felt like I was getting stronger somehow. Once my surroundings cleared up, I saw the bullies feared me and ran away cowardly. I smiled proudly as I felt something in my gut. Something all over my body could feel it. It felt like I was a… 'Chosen One'. My gut was leading outside of the city. My curiosity kicked in as I started to now wonder where my gut was leading me to. I couldn't ignore it but I had to. Now I was dying to explore where my gut was pointing to and the curiosity got the best of me as I walk away from Chill. "M-Mark?! Where are you going?!" He yelled out confused as he ran after me. It was the start of my adventure to save the island and maybe the world. I had to find the three other 'Chosen Ones' but I could tell, it was going to be a great one.
