Luna's Heart

Tears flowed like rain through ebony fur as she poured her heart's grief out in a heavy sob. Why? Why?! Why did she have to be so ignorant? Why did she need to take him for granted? She never expected to spend so much time with him. She never expected to get feelings for him. She most certainly did not expect for those feelings to be love. She never knew that a goodbye could hurt so much.

Luna would have taken any physical pain in place of this searing, burning void of loss. She had tried it more then once. Drawing her own blood to take the hurt from her heart and into her paw. It never worked. They were just more scratches. Almost nonexistent in comparison to the excruciating stab she had taken right in the chest. Right in the heart.

She had not even known that she had a heart before him. Shadow. ACK! Even the mention of his name sends another shoot of electricity coursing up her body. Shadow, the one who changed Luna, the heartless killer into a self-conflicted lover. Fighting herself every waking moment sense she laid her crimson eyes on him.

Was it right? Was it wrong? Did it even matter anymore? He was gone. Feeling sorry for herself couldn't change that. Nothing could change that. She just had to believe that he had not forgotten. He had not forgotten his promise to return to her. No matter what happened.

Perhaps he has found someone else? He had admitted that they had something special. But, neither of them had told the other that they loved them. Three simple word that she had never though to say. Three words that could have changed it all. The same words that she never would admit to. Pathetic.

If he had never came Luna would still be what she was. A monster. Cold, heartless and feared. Now, she was nothing short of a train wreck. Weeping until her her blood red eyes were sore. Confused and unwilling to admit it.

Unwilling to admit that she was nothing without Shadow.

Now she may never see him again. So, all she can do is cry. Grasping desperately at the memories that were all she had left in the world. The memories of a dark angel, cloaked in golden halos, that had come down to save her soul. A dark angel named Shadow. The love of her life. The only one who could ever hold the elusive heart of Luna the great and mighty warrior.
