Jace shivered as light snow swirled down around him. Sitting on the front steps of the Institute to read may not have been the greatest idea, but whatever.

"And then I drove the blade right up under it's ribs. It started hissing at me about Sebastian, so I just– Jace! What are you doing out here?" He smirked up at her. "Reading. Or at least trying to. What are you doing out here? Couldn't stay away from me for more than half an hour?" Clary just rolled her eyes and nudged Isabelle, who was mirroring her action. "Go back to your business. I just hate interrupting." He smirked again, turning to his book once again. "I'm going to meet Simon. See you later, guys." She started to walk towards the front of the Institute. Clary sat behind Jace. "What are you reading?" She asked, putting a hand on his shoulder and leaning forward. "A Tale of Two Cities." He replied. "An ancestor of mine gave it to... well I don't really know who. I think Magnus knew him." Jace reached up to cover her hand with his as she draped it on his chest. He loved moments like these, just relaxing and talking with Clary. A genuine, but small, smile lit up his face.

Isabelle Lightwood turned back, watching the happy couple sitting on the stairs. Jace was smiling in a way that she rarely saw. Clary lit him up like the Christmas trees lining the stores. She took out her cell phone and took a quick picture before wrapping her blue velvet trench coat around herself tightly before continuing on.

Jace turned around. Clary's red hair was holding miniature snowflakes, making her green eyes stand out even more. He kissed her fleetingly. "Let's go inside." He said, taking her hand.
