Years after a catastrophic event cripples the KND, Rachel and remnants of the organization struggle to survive in a world ravaged by an unknown power. Despite Nigel still gone with the GKND, the two will fight miles apart against a new mysterious enemy. 1. Introduction

Chapter 1: Introduction

"Almost makes you forget what was once here huh?" his voice traveled with the wind, reaching the ears of everyone standing on the hill. They looked out, a city in complete ruins, now left to rot and decay.

Another teen comments, "Yeah... this place used to be so beautiful, now look at it, those dirty bastards," the boy clenched his fist into the air. He was angry, and rightfully so. They took everything.

Most of them couldn't comprehend why, but all of them remembered perfectly how everything went down. Why they failed to act earlier, they would never know, but one thing was certain, they were losing.

A girl, perhaps around her late teens stares out into the darkening horizon. She longed for the days when things were much more simple and peaceful. It's been three years since everything happened, three years since they came.

Up above her was the endless stretch of beautiful stars. Long ago, a boy dear to her heart left on a mission that was even beyond her. She wondered when would he ever return, if he ever did at all.

It's been years since they said their farewells, and she recalled one of the last things he said to her before he left on his journey.

"One day Rachel, one day... I know I won't be there for you for, but remember no matter what happens, always remember to keep your faith"

Her eyes were lit up by the bright stars that continued to shine overhead.

Faith. A word she would never forget.
