Life of a Nobody
Chapter 1- A Far Off Memory
Part 1- Surprise
The greatest journey lies ahead. Hold onto your friends, you'll never choose a wrong path.
The pain came before the yelling. Not normal pain. The pain of needles being forced into your skin, and multiple tubes shoved down your throat. Pain of a broken heart and a shattered soul. Bright lights above me…all I see are black and white coats, with the silhouettes of those wearing them. Before their faces come into view…
I'm sitting in the back of a classroom. Chemistry. Not the best way to start the day. The test is over and the noise of those in the class is killing me. Will it ever end? The dreams are back. They've been gone for two years, and after all of this time…why come back now? Not just the people in coats but the boys. Seven of them, if I think about it. I see two versions of them, young and old(er). I can never make them out. I'm not sure who or where they are, but someday I will. As for now, I'll have to live the life I'm in and keep doing what I always do… hide everything.
"You okay?"
I look up, not even realizing that class has ended and I'm outside. One of my best friends, Ramo, is standing next to me.
"I'm fine. Just tired is all."
"Another rough night?"
"More like a week."
"Anything you want to talk about?"
"Later."
He looks to his right and smiles. Saying nothing, Ramo leans down and hugs me as we walk across campus to second period. Most of our friends are in this class. None of them know about what happens outside of school. Even more of a secret is the dreams… not even Ramo knows.
Class goes by fast as the bell rings for third period- Wind Ensemble. Ramo isn't there, but our other friend, Alexis, is. I sit in front of him as usual because of our sections. I smile at him and he nods, knowing that we'll talk later. School goes by the same as it always does. Slow before lunch, fast after. An average student going through life like a normal person, well, almost normal. Seventh period and the school day ends quicker than I can blink. I walk out of class and od to Alexis as he walks off campus.
Before leaving, I stop by my locker to drop off my binders and notebooks, and to pick up my homework. I barely get a binder into the space before the locker slams shut and the lock spins. Seeing the hand in front of me, I turn around and see…
"Doza."
