Prompt: Frogs
Pairing: Harry/Ginny
It was a beautiful evening as Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley shared a romantic stroll through the park. Fireflies flickered. The moon reflected in the mirror of the pond. Everything was peaceful.
Peaceful was good. This was the first chance they'd had in weeks to spend time together. It wasn't easy being a famous war hero. But all of that was set aside as they made the most of each other's company.
Suddenly, Ginny let out a piercing scream. In an instant, Harry had drawn his wand and pointed it in the direction she was facing.
The only thing there was a small green frog.
"Ginny, did the frog scare you?"
She sighed. "You must think I'm an idiot. I've faced Death Eaters and lived, but I'm terrified of an... an... amphibian!"
Harry shook his head, smiling bemusedly. "You aren't an idiot." He waved his wand and banished the offending frog. "We all have our own fears."
His smile widened. "Besides, I'll protect you. No frog can hurt you when I'm around!"
She laughed. "My hero! Whatever would I do without you?" she teased.
They spent the rest of the night in each other's arms, content in the safety they felt there. No frog dared interrupt their embrace.
This was written based on a friend of mine, who shall remain anonymous, that is terribly afraid of frogs. :)
