New fanfic? Yep. And in a new fandom as well.

I own nothing, including Kuroshitsuji or the Silent Hill soundtrack, which this fic stole a title from.

Clockwork Little Happiness

Outwardly, their courtship was nothing. Absolutely nothing. A glance here, a lingering smile there. Innocuous. Even Sebastian wouldn't have been able to pick up on it if Lady Elizabeth didn't distract Snake so very much. Ciel didn't notice. It wasn't that he didn't care. He just didn't notice. He'd be furious if he noticed the romance that had been blooming under his nose for six years.

Outwardly, Lady Elizabeth Cordelia Ethel Phantomhive was the perfect wife to the Aristocrat of Evil, simultaneously aware of her husband's illicit activities and unwilling to stop them. Someone had to keep London safe by any means necessary. Lizzy was honored that the man who did so was her husband. Just as Lady Elizabeth had that outward appearance, Snake did as well. He stood at attention and followed Sebastian's every move. He was shaping up splendidly, better than Ciel could have ever imagined.

Outwardly, they smiled.

Inwardly, Lizzy had cried out for more attention and sincerity than Ciel could have ever provided her with. She knew of his position as the Queen's Guard Dog, and even supported it, but she certainly didn't understand it. Furthermore, Ciel was either not of the disposition to share with her, or simply felt that she didn't need to know. More and more, Ciel would neglect her. He would stay in his study late into the night and, frequently, never come to bed. This had continued for only three years of Lizzy's marriage. It was when Snake, Ciel's own footman, had confessed feelings for her that she began to have another man in her life.

Cheating was a filthy word for this, Lizzy thought, as Snake's lips brushed across hers in a dark cupboard near the kitchen. If anything, Lizzy felt dirtier on the few occasions that Ciel came back to bed than she ever did in the fervent, stolen moments with Snake.

Lizzy's fingers tangled in his hair as he pressed another hot, moist kiss to the junction of her ear and neck. "H-He'll catch us… Ooh!"

"Emily is guarding the door, Wordsworth is in the hallway." Snake's words were soft as he moved his hands from her tiny waist to the back of her head, pulling her in for another kiss. He had long since been speaking for himself, but the snakes stayed a constant companion. That was fine. Lizzy liked how they curled around her wrist, upper arms, and neck.

"And Sebastian?" Lizzy was gasping at this point. She wanted the release that he could give her, when they were given ample time.

"Not even here. It's just us."

It was just them, wasn't it? In this tiny, enclosed space, with his knee between her legs (and she could get that release from that leg alone, Lizzy swore on it), it was only Lizzy and Snake. Lady Elizabeth Phantomhive was taking a walk around the manor, getting her legs back to her. Mister Snake was supposed to be assisting Bardroy with the dinner. In the pantry, with Snake's insistent mouth on the nape of her neck and her hands beckoning him forward, Lizzy needed little else in the world.
