Devon has finally gotten his hearing back, and he's patching things up with his long lost father, Tucker and grandmother, Katherine. All seems to be going well and he's just recently signed a brand new artist who has great potential and a lot easier to work with than his last artist. However, the new artist is a bit clumsy, and Devon hires Abby's new boyfriend Carmine as a bodyguard. Meanwhile, Devon is shocked to discover that Roxy has been seeing a male model in Europe and he breaks up with her. Devon begins wallowing in self pity, and spends a lot of time at Crimson Lights. Eden Baldwin comforts him and they begin bonding over their failed relationships. Eden and Devon begin hanging out even more and Tucker and Michael believe that they are dating, but they assure their family they are just friends. Devon and Eden are set up on a date by Carmine and Abby and they get stranded at Crimson Lights together when the state issues a tornado warning. They share their first kiss and fall asleep in one another's arms while waiting for word that the streets are safe again. Fortunately, for Genoa City, the tornado has just missed them and everyone is safe.
Devon asks Eden to go to an industry party with him and Tucker and they are seen on the red carpet together. Rumors begins swirling and Tucker convinces Devon to act on the public's sudden interest in his love life; Devon and Eden decide they will pretend to date just for fun. However, Devon doesn't expect to begin developing feelings for Eden and he hides them. Of course, his step-sister, Abby notices his feelings and begins taunting him. He swears her to secrecy and reminds her that the "relationship" was only supposed to be for publicity. Meanwhile, Noah Newman returns to Genoa City and clashes with Devon due to Noah ditching him on their previous record deal with Tucker's label. Noah apologizes and Noah begins assisting Devon with production for his new artist. They also begin looking for more new talent for the label and Devon is so impressed with Noah's level of commitment that he decides to make Noah a partner.
After signing several brand new acts, Noah and Devon begin working overtime to get their music out to the rest of the world. Devon contacts Angelina who agrees to do a feature with one of the new acts while Noah doesn't agree with Angelina being used to prop their artist, due to her now being with another label. Meanwhile, Devon and Eden begin officially dating after he tells her about his true feelings. Noah seems a bit jealous and also begins trying to win Eden back. When Eden rejects Noah to be with Devon, an angry Noah goes to his grandfather, Victor and wants to sue Devon claiming Devon does not respect him as an equal partner. Devon not knowing what to goes straight to Neil, who advises him that going up against the Newman family could be risky. Eden and Devon disagree on what he should and she asks her brother Michael for advice, and Michael successfully advises her to end things with Devon and avoid getting in the middle of a rivalry between the two families.
